  • Looking for some advice, we have travelled to DLP before but this is the first time taking our grand daughter age 20 months. We have been looking at different restaurants and the childrens meals nearly all say for age 3+, I just wonder what you are supposed to do for younger ones, do you have to pay for a kids meal (a complete waste), do they eat free or will she just have to have something off our plate. The other problem is she is allergic to the protein in cows milk so has to have soy milk and no dairy at all. Will this be available in the hotel or can I buy from anywhere there, if need to buy then where from?? We are taking snacks for her as she cannot have anything with butter, even chicken nuggets can be a problem, not sure if I can take enough Soy milk with me if we have to transport it - what a pain. Any help gratefully received.
Also we have been lucky enough to get into the Disney Hotel (great deal - 2 days 2 nights free !!) and arrive on the Sunday afternoon, is it worth having afternoon tea there then we can see the characters and then go out for the show in the park, we arrive on St Patricks Day so not sure whether to just drop everything and head straight into the park, if we do go to the park first we will miss the chance to see the characters as we go home Thursday AM, also is there a kettle/ tea/coffee in the room or do you need to request. We have got 4 nights there and its my husbands birthday on the last night, wondering if its worth letting them know before we go as might get something for him - thanks for any info
:j:j:j 5 weeks tomorrow till we go :j:j:j

she can share your meal at table service restaurants, and at buffets she goes free.

I'm afraid I can't help you with that, sorry.

if its the direct Eurostar you're on, you arrive at around 2pm, yes? I'd go straight to the hotel, check in, get your park tickets etc, and quickly check when the characters will be there in the afternoon (it will be either 4pm or 5pm, but there will be a sign on the noticeboard near the staircase giving you the exact time). If you have an hour or more to kill before character time, I'd go into the main park and have a look around the shops on Main St, before coming back to the hotel for character time that afternoon. Then I'd go back into the parks after that, until you are ready to drop for the evening :).

you can request a kettle etc for your room, not sure if you are charged for replenishment of the tea/coffee making stuff at the DLH (you are charged at the other hotels, so I just take my own).

Nothing wrong with emailing or calling the hotel before you go, to let them know you are celebrating your husbands birthday on your trip ;).
  • thanks so much for your help, has anyone been for the afternoon tea at the Disney Hotel, just wondering if we can fill up there and just get a snack later when leaving the park, its open late on the Sunday, just wondering what time the fireworks and light show will be on :T

the Dreams fireworks show over the castle will start at the official main park closing time (so if the park closes at 10pm, Dreams will start at 10pm). The show lasts around 20 minutes.

I've not done the afternoon tea at the DLH, but its not a tea buffet, you pay per item (its sweet waffles, brioche, that kind of thing).

eta - here is the menu (its at the bottom of all the wonderful photographs of the Cafe Fantasia) -

Ok! Just been told that the wedding will be in the Metz area? No idea... So, I am trying to find a Hotel near train station in Metz so we can stay there on the 2nd, check out on the 3rd and off to the DLP area (need to price up for the hotel on the 3rd and 4th plus tickets)... this is not easy! Any suggestions? I know its a big ask but this is the final plan...

I can't help with any hotels in any of the Paris areas I'm afraid - maybe start a new thread for recommendations for that?

    Hello,
Thank you for replying. I have found a hotel near the metz train station.

Would you mind telling me what station I need for DLP is and how easy it is from there to one of the 4 offsite hotels?

Can I ask your opinion? The Ceyenne is £135, Explorers £120 and Kyriad £115 (for the 3rd and 4th)... Would Ceyenne be the better option? (to go through DLP site it is £187 per night - YIYKES)...

Not sure now if to get 2 day's of entry tickets ot just the 1 for the full Monday and chill out on the Sunday and hit the park on the Mon - I am right that staying at the Ceyenne would give the additional time in the park?

yes, the Cheyenne will give you Extra Magic Hours - and for such a small difference in price, I'd do that through Expedia etc, and then get your one-day park tickets for 30 euros each on fnac.

Theres plenty Disney magic in the onsite hotels and in the Village - theres an amazing World of Disney store in the Village to browse in on the Sunday, and you could even do a character meal at Cafe Mickey in the early evening on Sunday, get into the swing of things :). You don't need a park entry ticket to enjoy the Village.

eta - sorry, forgot to add, the train station at DLP is called Marne La Vallee Chessy. You reach it by using the local RER train service. Seat 61 is a good site for figuring out which connections you need etc to get from A to B in many European cities.

Oh thats really reassuring and helpful to know. I think I will go for that then, seams to make sense if we get the additional time.

I could not book the ticket to dlp though the site, sorry it was all in French :-(

would google translate help with booking the tickets? If you're not confident doing it that way, then just go for any of the day tickets you've found on various agent sites etc (remember cashback :)).
