- there are many shuttle services you can book in advance to take you straight from your terminal at CDG to your DLP hotel - have a look at rstransports or ezyshuttle.com - you may even be able to pay shared shuttle price with rstransports, and not end up sharing with anyone else.
Thank you will look into that. Also thinking of possibly hiring a car for the week so we can then venture out if want to ( not that we are planning to but nice to have the option). Seems to be cheaper to get a car for the week that book a taxi or shuttle run.0 -
Hi I have just booked tickets for june 4th through sky and am now looking for some advice on making the most of our day with ds's 6&8 on a budget for our 1st trip there!
We will be going from Southampton, so I guess driving to dover is best, and then maybe euro tunnel? I looked direct and it said £96 but looking at 'ferry to france' site it said we could book for £48? Anyone used that site? www.aferry.com sounds too good to be true?
Also thinking its best to travel on the 3rd and stay in a hotel, then go to park for 4th and return that night? So any recomendations on where to book a cheap room not too far from park, or maybe reasonable price for disney hotel?
Hoping someone can help point us in the right direction and give advice on the best way to make the most of the free tickets
Thanks in advance
i'd be more inclined to go over on an early morning Eurotunnel ( we tend to stay in a cheapy hotel the night before) then drive straight to Disney
stay overnight ( check out expedia.co.uk for hotels nearby but not onsite )after a full day in the parks ,then get the eurotunnel back the next afternoon
that way you don't have to leave Disney early and have the drive back to the tunnel in the dark / night0 -
If you are a customer they are giving you 2 free park tickets, I booked 2 in my name on our sky and 2 in husbands name on parents account so all 4 of us can get in free for a day.
Oh that's interesting, I was wondering if there was a way to get more than 2 tickets...no way my parents will want theirs so I might have to 'borrow' the code on their account if we decide to go again. Were they ok with the booking being done in a name that wasn't on the Sky account?0 -
Hi all,
This thread is amazing, and so useful - already made loads of notes! But it's also so BIG! lol So apologies in advance if this has been asked multiple times...
We're planning on taking DD to DLP in about 2 years time. (around Christmas 2013 - we want to go for the Christmas theme, but don't mind whether it's before or after Christmas itself). We're planning this far in advance to give us time to save up - we want to stay in a Disney Hotel (probably Cheyenne as it's reasonably cheap, and both OH and I have been there before - independantly - and like the theme!), go via the EuroStar from London to the park itself, and probably go half board. DD will be 4 that December (so may be 3 or 4 depending on the dates we go).
* What I'd like to know is when's the best time to book for the Christmas theme period? (Not the Christmas/New Year dates). Is it best to book as early as possible, or wait for any offers that might come up? Or is that time of year rarely featured in the deals? (Looking at the current 50% off offer as an example!).
* How far in advance can you book EuroStar?!
EDITED TO ADD: * Is the best way to book this type of package to go through DLP online directly, or via somewhere else? Recommendations?
Sorry for all the questions! I'm naturally someone who likes to plan WAY in advance (as this post proves!) so my natural inclination would be to book as early as possible. But I obviously want to save money where possible. Don't get me wrong, I know there are lots of things we could do to save money - non disney hotels as an example - but this is our big treat. Probably lloking at 3 nights / 4 days, during the week.
Any advice would be wonderful.
Many thanks in advance!!

cdsmiler you are in the perfect position - as you have around a year yet to plan
before booking anything. So, this year, make notes when DLP bring out their winter dates. Then make more notes when their offers are, what they are etc for the dates you're interested in. That way you'll know whats likely to happen regarding similar discounts/offers when you are ready to book for winter 2013.
For Christmas season at DLP we've gone in November/very early December, and its been fabulously quiet midweek. The weather does tend to get colder and wetter as December arrives, and there have, in past years, been snow disruption/cancelled Eurostar/flights etc between the UK and France, so this might be something to consider when you're looking at your preferred dates.0 -
bags almost packed not long now 4 days to go OMG scarey0

welcome cdsmiler
i cant answer most of your questions but what balletshoes suggested about using the next year to note offers etc seems like a good idea. just wanted to add that perhaps you should think about going earlier in the month, before your daughter turns four as under fours travel free on the eurostar. also the eurostar gives its cheapest prices the sooner you book. give them a call and ask when they will be releasing the tickets for dec 2013 and then stick that date in your diary. sooooo excited for you bluecow- hope you have a great time - just wish my visit would hurry and come5 weeks and 2 days to go

use Tesco clubcard deals for the Eurotunnel

Thank you, yes I was worried about leaving early too. We also have the option of Portsmouth to le havre overnight to arrive at 8am, then 2 1/2 hrs drive to dlp. Sleep at hotel and then back on the 5pm ferry.
It's that or I think we might need a travel lodge at Folkestone for the night before. Will check out the sale thursday0 -
Hi DLP experts
I'm thinking of booking 3 nights in the flash sale but just have a couple of queries...
Half board meal plan is £111 for 3 nights, will this really be a saving for myself and daughter (both vegetarian) or would we be better just going with the flow? I read that food is very expensive but would I really spend that much in 3 nights?
Thinking of booking flights separately through easyjet for a £40 saving, but is this fasle economy, will I end up paying more for the transfer?
Thanks in advance0 -
have you looked on ther dlrp website, they have resturant menus so you can check prices and see if there are enough options for you.
Little question as panicking, with the snow forecast what is eurostar like, hoping it will be fine by sunday snow forecast thur/fri at the mo?
We travel by train to london on the sat so hope that will be ok, main line into kings cross.
Dont mind if it snows us in once there but want to get there lol.0
