Hi I have just booked tickets for june 4th through sky and am now looking for some advice on making the most of our day with ds's 6&8 on a budget for our 1st trip there!
We will be going from Southampton, so I guess driving to dover is best, and then maybe euro tunnel? I looked direct and it said £96 but looking at 'ferry to france' site it said we could book for £48? Anyone used that site? www.aferry.com sounds too good to be true?
Also thinking its best to travel on the 3rd and stay in a hotel, then go to park for 4th and return that night? So any recomendations on where to book a cheap room not too far from park, or maybe reasonable price for disney hotel?
Hoping someone can help point us in the right direction and give advice on the best way to make the most of the free tickets
Thanks in advance
Hows this sky thing working?0 -
Not long to go! 14th of March till our trip. (I refuse to look at the 50% off prices now
)
Anyway, any advice would be great on making it a smooth experience as my partner is just dreading it
He thinks it will be horrendous and is likely to start having panic attacks over it soon
He's not a very good traveller hence nor am i, but only due to lack of experience!
Few questions about Eurostar. How soon do you normally get sent the tickets if booked thro the disney site?
Also there are 3 of us travelling so does it mean one of us will have to sit on their own? (this will be me lol) as it seems the seats are in rows of 2.
Do you carry your lugguage on with you? how does the disney express thing work? do we need to put tags on with our names and where we are staying?
Sorry for the noob questions but we are not very experienced with travelling and i dont want to get anything wrong!
I looked and the dates we are going and the hotel are no longer available so pleased i havent paid more lol. i did re look at the same package tho just booking normally and its now £400 more so please i booked when i did xx Have a fab time we go on the 26th march to 30th0 -

Hi we aqre going to disney for 4 nights end of march. wondering if anyone has any advice on eating out there without spending loads. We are flying so limited to what we can take with us really. Thanks in advance
Where are you staying? There's a McDonalds in the Village, which isn't much more expensive than over here. We also caught the bus to Explorers hotel a couple of times. They do lovely pizzas. We bought 1 pizza & 1 fries for 15 euros & it fed me, my husband & our 3 year old.COMP WINS FOR HUBBY & I SINCE SEPTEMBER:2 £50 DOMINOS VOUCHERS, 13 PAIRS OF FOOTBALL TICKETS, MICROSOFT HOME EDTN, 2 PAIRS OF ALTON TOWERS TICKETS, 1 CASE OF PERCY PIGS, 1 PAIR OF LEATHER LADIES GLOVES, 4 COLLECTION 2000 PRODUCTS, PLAYSTATION 3 WITH FIFA 12, 5* HOTEL STAY IN LONDON, SEASON 6 OF SUPERNATURAL DVD, PERFECT PIZZA VOUCHER0 -
I personally havent had any experience of transfers but as I have read all about it here for my sister who will be flying when we go in March. From what I understand, there are 3 options; the VEA (coach), the TRV (train) and private/ shared shuttles (basically taxis). They are all many similar in price 40-50 euros for a family of 1 adult, 2 children (this price is if you use shared shuttle- this basically means another family will be picked up at the same time but sometimes you end up getting it to yourself anyway - private shuttle is more exensive). The real difference lies in the time, the VEA coach is the slowest and takes about 1.5 hrs, the train the fastest which takes about 10 mns and the shuttle taking about 45mins to 1 hr (depending on traffc).Just looked for TGV train transfer but the last train is at 21.15 my flight doesnt land till then. HELP!!!!
With the train you need to time it right to allow yourself time to come through customs get your bag etc , walking to train terminal (not far from arrivals and well signposted so I read) so booking can be a little dissicult especially if your flight gets delayed etc, because I understand that if you miss it that you wil need to rebuy your tickets. But obviously this is the fastest way and like I said there isnt much difference in the prices of all 3 options. I thought I had read that the trains run till after midnight so dont know if you are looking at the wrong page?
What my sister has decided to do is book a shared shuttle when she arrives (just incase she takes long with bags etc) as the company everyone recommends on here (http://www.rstransports.com/) are apparently very good with waiting etc and are only a couple of mins away from the airport and take your flight number etc so will be aware if your late etc. When shes leaving she will get the train as its so quick.
Hope this helps

Have you checked the shuttle bus? https://www.vea.fr Other than that, your best bet is to look for a private or shuttle transfer. We booked our trip through voyage prive, & got a private taxi transfer for £145 return.COMP WINS FOR HUBBY & I SINCE SEPTEMBER:2 £50 DOMINOS VOUCHERS, 13 PAIRS OF FOOTBALL TICKETS, MICROSOFT HOME EDTN, 2 PAIRS OF ALTON TOWERS TICKETS, 1 CASE OF PERCY PIGS, 1 PAIR OF LEATHER LADIES GLOVES, 4 COLLECTION 2000 PRODUCTS, PLAYSTATION 3 WITH FIFA 12, 5* HOTEL STAY IN LONDON, SEASON 6 OF SUPERNATURAL DVD, PERFECT PIZZA VOUCHER0 -

You can get a full meal for 10 euros (includng drinks) at some of the counter service restuarants; plus not forgetting Mcds which is priced as it is here (I think me and my 2 kids meals came to about 13 euros). You can do Cafe Mickey (the charcter restuarant) on a budget by getting a pizza and a couple of sides between you to share rather than going for their 'set menu'. You can also bring snacks etc in your bag from outside (there is a little shop in the train station just outside the main park where you can buy reasonably priced snacks/ drinks). You can also bring a botte of squash and use the inpark water fountains to fll up little bottles for the kids when they run out.
http://www.dlrpmagic.com/ have full restuarant menus so you can see all the prices etc. Have a look round this site - its very helpful! Also check out http://www.dlrpmagic.com/planning/ad...y-saving-tips/ for mor info on doing Disney on a budget. Hope this helps

Hows this sky thing working?
If you are a customer they are giving you 2 free park tickets, I booked 2 in my name on our sky and 2 in husbands name on parents account so all 4 of us can get in free for a day.
Now we just have to work out getting there.
Anyone done the pompey to le harve crossing and gone straight to dlp?0 -

Don't panic
- there are many shuttle services you can book in advance to take you straight from your terminal at CDG to your DLP hotel - have a look at rstransports or ezyshuttle.com - you may even be able to pay shared shuttle price with rstransports, and not end up sharing with anyone else. 0
