Has anyone got any tips on how to tell a little one that they're going to Disney? Our little girl thinks that we're going to a caravan in Norfolk and is clueless (although I'm not sure how considering the time I'm taking to plan this). We're not actually planning on telling her until the morning that we get on the train. I'm bad enough with the excitement, I think together, we'd drive my husband mad!

I'm doing the suprise thing next Wednesday, my DD doesn't even know she's not going to school yet, and I don't intend telling her. You can imagine the back story I'm having to invent, especially as she has 2 16yo brothers and my OH who aren't coming, it's just going to be her, me and my mum.

My dad is taking us to the station, so I'm going to tell her my car needs to go to the garage and that my dad is taking us to school, I'm even going to take her school bag and packed lunch in the car, then grandad will go the wrong way. I'm hoping to make it to the station without having to tell her, but I think what I'll do when we get there is say to her 'Hey M, you know that Disney advert (that she's been watching with awe!), well today's the day! At which point me and mum will put out fingers in our ears, cos I'm sure there will be some screaming!

Not your descion to make ;)

And maybe the poster already has already had the time off authorised and has asked them not to tell the child.

The child could also be in Nursery, which still requires time off school but as the child is not LEGALLY obliged to attend nursery school should be able to go on holiday when they want.

I had 10 days for a holiday authorised last year, I would hope that if I wanted it kept a secret from my child then the school would do just that. It seems that not all schools might not be like yours.

Not that it's any of you business really, but her school are more than happy to authorise a few days.

As for school governors, they don't really have a leg to stand on as last February half term one added on one week another added on two weeks to the school holidays, seems some governors only wear the 'hat' when it suits. I'd like to see the school refuse 3 days after that fiasco.

But thanks for your concern ;)

hi, heading to campsite on Berny-Riviere (approx 1.5 hours from eurodisney) on 21st June. Want to take kids (13, 12 & 5) to Eurodisney for a couple of days. Any recommendations - should I get a 2 day hopper pass or 2 single day passes. Should I stay in hotel near Eurodisney (2 adults, 3 children) or drive there from campsite on separate days? Do two day passes have to be used on consecutive days? Is parking free at eurodisney? Sorry for all the questions.
    Thanks
when we stay @ that site we just drive in each time

    it's an hours drive

park in the Disney Village multistorey as it's 8 euros compared to 15 euros in the main carpark ( and closer!!)

we tend to look for any deals for tickets ,we have used Tesco deals, and sometimes you get the 15% off deal on the DLP website

Yes, you can just leave your cases in left luggae - but if getting off the train I am sure the room will be ready. They charge for the Disney Express - which I would use on the wya home, it is just much easier than lugging cases around for the day. This service is ONLY available from Disney Hotels though - just to clarify really. Not to Partner Hotels.

I, personally, would NOT book a package as it will cost you around £500 more - once you add the train on the price will rocket. Book the hotel with Disneylandparis.co.uk and the Eurostar on the Eurostar website. You will be getting the exact same package but without the Disney Express for much more.

But no, you do not have to use the Disney Express, just tell them and you can go off and check in instead. It is much easier.

hiya blue monkey thanks for the advice, so u suggest that we book the disney hotel on there website and book the eurostar later (as it wont be available to book straight away).
keep our bags with us and check straight in at the hotel if poss (if not leave bags with left luggage).
and is there a left luggage service at the hotel where we can pick our bags up and check in normally at the eurostar or do we have to use the disney express on the way back? if we use this on the homebound journey is there along que or will it be fine?
also how do u choose decent seats on the eurostar?there will be 6 of us and probably 2 large cases and a pushchair so would it be best to phone to book the seats or can you choose specific seats on the eurostar website?
i do have quidco so will remember to use that as we should save abit( booking the disney hotel family room for 6 :) )
thanks for all the advice although we have been twice before this will be the first time we have taken my mum sister and niece and havent used the eurostar so all the advice helps.

French Bank Holidays are always busy so be aware of this, they use them to have a long weekend there. I cannot tell you about the train but the parks are very, very crammed. Sorry.

Thanks for that - not too fussed, as we plan on arriving after 3pm and going straight to the hotel. Just hoping the RER runs from Paris ok on the day, though.

Hi everyone. I have searched and skimmed the thread but am still a little confused about something. Please bear with me if I've missed the answer.

I have an adult sister with a learning disability and early onset dementia. Her condition has deteriorated this year and sadly I, my brothers and other sister now feel that it's time to do all the things we've ever wanted to do with her before it's too late. She is a real Disney princess and I want to take her to DLP for a few days, just the 2 of us.

My other sister took her there along with her family quite a few years ago and has told me not to book a package but to try to book accommodation only and get disabled and "helper goes free" tickets when we arrive. I'm reading in this thread that that may actually cost more! I'm assuming this is because of the heavily discounted park tickets that are included in the package?

I have tried talking to the Disney booking line but the person I spoke to hadn't a clue. She said that we couldn't book that way unless we booked a room each. Even if money was no object that wouldn't be safe for my sister. I've also e-mailed them through their Special Needs section on the contacts page but haven't had a reply. I get the impression from reading this thread that there's not a lot some of you guys don't know about DLP so here's hoping you can advise me.

    Many thanks. :A

Has anyone been for bonfire week and how much did it cost and what was the weather like please?

    Thanks

    Hi,

We went just after bonfire night last year and stayed in the New York Hotel. I can't remember exactly how much it was but we thought it was quite reasonable. When we arrived we had been given an upgrade to an Empire State Club room which was very nice.

The weather was terrbile though! It poured two of the three days we were there so waterproof jackets are a necessity. At least with the rain the parks were quiet, especially on our last day when the rain was torrential but most of the rides were still on.
