Hi all, thanks you for your previous responsees to my questions. :)
I was wondering what everyone thought of the wildwest show they have? I have been told by my aunt who goes almost evrey year that its unmissable, but I think its rather expensive (I think its £143 for me and the two children). Its our first trip and can see us being able to afford to go any time again soon so was wondering if it really is unmissable and whether or not I should sretch myself that bit further for it? I am planning to take £700 spending money for 3 nights and 4 days (one adult nad 2 children - 6 and 3) - thats to cover food too (minus breakfast) - is that enough (not too fussed about getting them loads of pressies although will probarly get them a couple of small things) ? Wildwest show would have to come out of that if I decide to go. Any advice? Thanks

I've never been to the Wild West Show, just never seem to find the time out from being in the parks, or its not on a suitable evening. But as to you budget - I'm taking less than £500 spending money on our next trip, for 4 nights and 5 days, one adult and 2 kids age 9 and 10. So even if you did want to pay full price for the Wild West show, you will have enough in your budget to do it :).

thanks balletshoes - as I've never been before was really worried about spending money because everyone says its really expensive to eat etc.Think I may go ahead nad book it now (as from advice above) managed to find tickets for £100 for all 3 of us - seems alot more reasonable (once you think food is included). Thanks all

And it was supposed to say in my first post - its our first trip and cant see us being able to afford it again anytime soon - hence while I want to do as much as possible :)

snacks and drinks are expensive at DLP - so take those in your luggage or buy them at the little Relay shop inside the train station. Pop some in your bag for the kids to have during the day (you have to open your bag at security when you enter the parks but they're not looking for food, you can take these in no problem).

There are lots of review threads around with prices etc for the restaurants at DLP - DLRPMagic, magicalkingdoms, the DISboards, etc etc etc. Just have a google and you'll get some idea of the cost of eating there :). Portions are generally large I find.

Yep, I was planning to go to Sainsburys before I go and get fruit / squash / crisps / biscuits etc and pack in our luggage so will only have to pay for lunch and dinner really. I have also looked up the menus and have seen that quite a few places do cheap set menus, but yet I was still worried lol. And my aunt also told me about the shop in the train station is the best place to buy drinks etc if we need to - but we shouldnt really , bringing the kids bottles and will just refill them throughout the day. Read all on this thread during the past couple of week and got a list of things to bring including few teabags and sugar / kids costumes etc to avoid buying it when there. :D

Whilst we are talking about it - what is payable in the parks (apart from food / drink ) ? Is the balloon ride (in Disney Village) chargable and does anyone know how much? I'm not intrested in taking them to the cinema or bowling etc as I see these as things we can do at home, if you know what I mean - and when we get back its only 2/ 3weeks till Easter hols start so no doubt be doing those things then.

I'm not sure how much the balloon ride is - 10 euros or so rings a vague bell, less for children. Its very dependant on the weather though, if you get to go up on it.

Apart from food and souvenirs, we don't pay for anything once we're there - and thats why, if you've got a good deal on your hotel/travel, I think DLP can be a great value for money holiday.

eta - found the link for the balloon -

Thanks Balletshoes. I think your right - we usually go down to the coast in the summer for a week and easily pay £200 for accomdation (usually rent from private owners on ebay etc) and at least £50 on petrol then spending money etc. Easily about the same amount (if not more) when you include spending money - we spent £700 in 4 days the year before last in Great Yarmouth  . Only paid £414 for hotel, breakfast, park tickets and eurostar (3 nights / 4 days) :D Dont plan to buy too much soveneirs etc so you never know - I may even be lucky enough to bring some money home :)

Hi, Im working my way through this thread :) Loving it

I am off to DLP on the 28th March and staying in the New York Hotel, I was wondering if anyone knew if the Ice Rink will still be open then? Cant seem to find a definite date on the website. Also planning on using the pool at the New York if we find the time and wondered if you need to take your own towels with you?

    Thank you

Just wanted to say HI, we are going to NYH on the 25th March.

i would assume you could just take the towels from your room to the pool.
