If you want to avoid any rush go at the beginning of the week not the end. I have always found Tuesday and Wed to be the quietest days followed closely by Mondays

Find me on TA too0 -
I am driving to the chunnel and my husband is driving from Calais to Paris - we will switch on the train. We are leaving around 4am and getting an early train, kids will be in PJ's too. Then I can get 40 winks between calais and paris. Unless of course I am too excited.0

I very rarely sleep in the car anyway, but never on the way to Disney0

Hi, Im working my way through this thread
Loving it
I am off to DLP on the 28th March and staying in the New York Hotel, I was wondering if anyone knew if the Ice Rink will still be open then? Cant seem to find a definite date on the website. Also planning on using the pool at the New York if we find the time and wondered if you need to take your own towels with you?
Thank you0 -

thanks soo much for your valuable suggestions!!
I am still considering all options.
what is the better hotel to stay in?
has anybody stayed in the Disney's Davy Crockett Ranch ? I like it because it includes a kitchen and its in a Forrest type of area so can go for nice walks with the kids? What do you guys think - this compared to the other hotels?
Cooking?? And walking woods instead of theme parking...??? No no no no no!!!!!! You have it all wrong. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Seriously, have not stayed there so cannot tell you.0 -

Thank you for your advice.
I called Disney today and upgraded from the standard half board option (£176 for two adults for five days) to the Plus half board option it was an extra £40. So the total was £216.
I know that these half board option don't save major money but it was handy for me to pay up front and then know how much i could actually spend on presents and snacks etc. As last time i went to DLP i got a major shock at how much money is taken up on overpriced food.
Thanks again.0 -

I'm pretty certain that the rink is now open all year round although don't quote me on that. When we went last year it was open but we were too tired to have a skate.
I'm not sure about the towel situation, hopefully someone will answer your question soonSealed Pot Challenge Member 1273VSP 2011 Member 92 - 723.070 -
Hi,
We're going to DLP for the first time at the end of this month and the only thing we haven't sorted out yet is travel insurance. We bought the package through Disney but unticked the insurance as it seemed expensive (can't remember what price it was now). What we're particularly concerned about is a delay in a connecting train to London that means we miss the Eurostar. I'm guessing in that type of situation we'd have to quickly try to buy tickets for a later train that day. We have no idea how much that would cost us, and I can't work out which of the insurance offerings being returned by comparison sites would refund us for that.
Anyone been through this before?

Hi all, thanks you for your previous responsees to my questions.
I was wondering what everyone thought of the wildwest show they have? I have been told by my aunt who goes almost evrey year that its unmissable, but I think its rather expensive (I think its £143 for me and the two children). Its our first trip and can see us being able to afford to go any time again soon so was wondering if it really is unmissable and whether or not I should sretch myself that bit further for it? I am planning to take £700 spending money for 3 nights and 4 days (one adult nad 2 children - 6 and 3) - thats to cover food too (minus breakfast) - is that enough (not too fussed about getting them loads of pressies although will probarly get them a couple of small things) ? Wildwest show would have to come out of that if I decide to go. Any advice? Thanks0 -
