    Hi folks,

Has anyone eaten at the buffet in the Cheyenne? What kind of food is it, and also how much for adults and children?

Also, if we want to eat at other hotel restaurants do we need to make reservations? We're going mid-week ffrom 17-18 March.

    TIA

  • 5 weeks today until our Disneyland paris trip! Sure i'm more excited than our daughters.

    Have a few questions...

I want to get an autograph book for the girls, how much are they in the park?

Is it a good idea to let them take Disney costumes?

Staying at Newport Bay Club (admirals floor), bit concerned having read a few reviews, but i'm a "glass half full" sort, so hopefully will be fine!
I've read somewhere that you can take your breakfast in the park. Is this true? Do we have to book it days in advance? Also we can pay 10euro for breakfast in the room. What do you get if you order room service breakfast?

Is there a kettle with complimentary tea and coffee? What about a fridge? Would be nice to be able to keep a bottle of milk in our room for the girls bedtime milk.

Found a good deal today when trying to sort out parking and hotel in Ashford the night before we travel...
Have booked the Hoilday Inn Ashford Central for £92. That includes breakfast for the four of us, parking for up to 7 nights and taxi's to and from Ashford International. Really chuffed, perhaps could of got it a little cheaper, but should at least be hastle free.
Also we booked DLP for around £850 in Sept (including Eurostar, which I would book seperately another time) and today the same trip appears to be almost £1500! Phew, that's what I call money saving.

Thanks in advance for your help with my questions.

they cost around 6 or 7 euros - remember to take chunky pens too (much better for the characters to grip than normal biros)

definitely - let them dress up every day if they want to :)

you can't book ahead for breakfast in the park, you ask for it when you check in at your hotel.

tea/coffee making stuff costs 6 euros for the basket of stuff, I don't think its worth it so I just take my own plus travel kettle - but you can ask at reception for a kettle. there is no fridge, just a minibar but if you move stuff in there to put in a bottle of milk it may show up as a minibar purchase on your bill.

  • my daughter was 5 first time we went to DLP, we both still prefer to stay onsite if the budget allows - onsite you have the chance of meeting Disney characters at your hotel, and you can walk (even on little legs) to and from your hotel to the parks, you don't have to rely on shuttle buses (although there are those too every 5-10 minutes all day and evening). The biggest advantage in staying onsite is Extra Magic Hours - 2 hours from 8am to 10am where onsite hotel guests have access to most of the rides in Fantasyland and some in Discoveryland, before other guests. This is a real perk when your kids are your age, as some of their favourite rides will be in Fantasyland!

I didn't realise about the 2 hours, that's great news. Just waiting for a deal to come up so we can book. Couldn't afford to book when the Jan offer was on - I have assumed you have to pay it all upfront. Thanks again, all the info on here is really helpful. I didn't realise it could be quite so confusing trying to book a break to Disney!

you don't have to pay a Disney hotel/tickets package all at once - if you phone to book rather than doing it online, you have the option of paying 10% deposit when you book, with the balance payable 60 days before you check in.

Brilliant thank you - something else I didn't know. I thought from looking online that it all had to be paid at once, which I wasn't able to do. Thank you so much! Next time there's an offer, I'll phone up & put the deposit down! Feeling much more positive about it all now!
  • Thankyou ballet shoes. Very helpful. I have been reading the last few months of this thread and you are obviously a mind of useful DLP info. I have been twice before myself, but only with other adults and not for 10 years! So what I remember is now very out of date and not relevant to a trip with under 5's. Stayed at Ranch Davy crocket and Hotel Cheyenne and wanted to spend a bit more this time as it will be our last chance to go in termtime before DD starts school in the Autumn. Now I wish we had gone all in and booked Hotel New York really (don't think I'll ever be able to justify Disneyland hotel either). After 4 years of having £9.50 sun holidays I thought we could treat ourselves. Wish I had gone that bit further really, but like most people on here, I'm always looking for a bit of value for money. I booked NBC specifically because it is a big hotel, I thought it would be a nice change compared with the caravans (though the girls love them). Hope I don't live to regret it.

Just to confirm, am I right in thinking we can request to have our breakfast in the park for no additional cost? This sounds like a great idea to me. I do remember from previous visits that those extra magic hours are well worth it.

As our elder daughter is almost 4, Disney Princesses (particularly pink sleeping beauty) are a REALLY big deal here. Any top tips for places to see them? We are considering a lunch at Auberge de Cendrillon, but I can imagine I will find the price a hard pill to swallow. Will have to see. I think generally we will be sneaking an extra roll each from the brekkie buffet for lunch time, so perhaps we'll have a couple of times when we splash out. Have started a list of things to take and the first thing I put on it was a roll of resealable bags ;).

We will be there at the same time Balletshoes, I had forgotten about Paddy's day until I was on here last night. Do you think there will be anything special on? We travel back on the evening of March 17th so will have the full day there. I have been looking at the calender and I notice the train and slinky dog thing are closed from 14th so they will definately be on our plan for Sunday when we arrive. I also think I saw that the current parade runs until 13th March, so will make sure we see it as maybe it will change the next day! Sooooo excited.

I'll use the mini-bar as a fridge, I know they try and say you've used it if you move the bottles, but they will just have to trek up to the room and check if they don't believe me! No way I would be tempted by their over-priced mini-bar offerings.

    Happy holidays everyone!

we arrive on the 17th - it will be my first ever trip including Disney fireworks, I'm really excited about it! On 17th they have Minnie and Mickey dressed in emerald green, a special parade with Irish pipers (who look suspiciously Scottish to me going by the youtube clips I've seen ) and Irish dancers too. Plus fireworks at the end of the park day (8pm).

Yes, breakfast in the park is at no extra charge :).
The Auberge is apparently fabulous for Princess-loving children of all ages. The Cars n Stars parade in the Studios has Mulan, Jasmine, Ariel and Snow White in it daily, and has a meet n greet afterwards - its a good place to get Princess autographs and photos.
I'll be asking at City Hall this trip too, because the usual daily Princess meet n greet at the castle stage isn't going on at the moment due to the stage area refurb, so I'll ask at City Hall where we might meet the Princesses instead. You could find they are dotted around the main entrance later in the afternoon, but worth asking I think.
You will definitely see pink Sleeping Beauty every day in the Once Upon a Dream parade - the Princesses and their Princes are walking the whole route at the moment because of the path refurb on part of the normal route - so if you stake out your parade spot and have your girls at the ropeside they'll get close to her.

On 13th, if you can, try to catch the character express train and the New Generation Mickey and Friends show in front of the castle - these are the 2 attractions which are finishing that day for the season (oh and possibly Tiana and Naveens meet and greet at the bandstand).

LOL, our train leaves at 19.37! Never mind, probably for the best, DD3 doesn't like loud noises, actually pondering getting her some top quality ear plugs before we go, as I imagine she'll find lots of things a bit loud.

    Yippppeeeeee!

Have been looking at the menu on DLRP magic. Looks nice to me but predictably expensive. Not sure the girls will fully appreciate fine-dining, but we might well try it as a massive treat all round. The childrens menu is for 3 year olds+. What happens to our 1 year old daughter? (Actually relieved I won't have to spend 25euro on two childrens meals)

Thanks for that. List of things to cram in after our arrival at lunchtime is growing ever longer! DD has been watching the Mickey and friends show on youtube so I was particularly looking forward to seeing it for real.

Thankyou again, I really must do some studying tomorrow instead of spending the evening getting ever more excited about our holiday!:)
