Hi all, Im also going on Paddy's Day. It will be my first trip and I cant wait. Im going with my best friend and her 3 children (12, 5 and 1) and my 2 little ones (6 and 3). I cant wait and so glad to hear there will be fireworks on Paddy's day night - I actually thought they had fireworks every night, so glad to hear we will be there on a day when there is fireworks :j. I was wondering if anyone knows the best way to ensure the younger ones and the 12 year old each get a chance to enjoy themselves as we dont want the 12 year old to constantly be having to wait while we walk around with the litle ones and go to their rides and I cant see the little ones waiting patiently while she goes onto the older rides. Are the older/tounger rides seperated or are there any areas where they are close together so that they can both ride at the same time? I hope that makes sense. Thanks

The rides aren't seperated, but your 12 yr old will want to go on some of the younger rides (buz lightyear and starwars), and you can use the fast pass system to shorten your queues on the bigger rides. Fast pass only lets you get in the queue for one ride at a time, however if you have young kids tickets who will not be going on the bigger rides, then you can use there tickets as fast pass on different rides, if you see what I mean? If you have six indiviual tickets, each ticket can be used as a fast pass ticket on six seperate rides at the same time, so you could do that for the rides for your 12 yr old.

have skimmed through the 120 pages of this thread. my query is slightly different from most.

I'm a teacher shortly due to be taking a coach load of teens to DLP and WDS. They will have one day in each park and an hour or two in the disney village. just trying to figure out what to advise they take in terms of spending money. They only thing they will need to buy in the park is lunch or a snack, and maybe some souvenirs.

From looking at various sites, it would seem that the average cost of a meal (eg burger, fries, drink) is 10 euros with ice creams and drinks in the region of 3 euros. Am I in the right ballpark with these figures or am I over/under budgeting?

I didn't look at the price of the vending machines which are dotted around, but I would recommend that you take the kids to a hypermarket before DLP/WDS to get bottles of drinks and snacks to take in with them, as it was 3 euro for a can of coke in places.

Also, as you enter the park they search or X/ray bags. Not something to worry about, but I got caught out as I took a Swiss Army knife away with me (you never know when you'll need one!) and had moved it from my large suitcase (travelled in the hold) to my rucksac and had to blag my way in with it. Knowing Teenagers, there will probably be one who has something they shouldn't in there bags, so worth advising them beforehand.
  • Thank you guys. Yeap, it was left luggage lockers I think that I was told about -if thats cheaper I think I will do that. I totally understannd what you are saying about the FastPasses Lawrie28, thank you, that will hopefully reduce the amount of moaning from the kids about waiting around for the others.
Anyone know about the babysitting or cake service charges?

We will be running a tuck shop so they can buy drinks cheaply from us to save some money

Thanks for flagging up the bag searches - i had totally forgotten about them (although I understand Florida are stricter than DLP). Definitely one to bring to the kids attention.

I was also wondering if anyone knows how much it will cost us to travel into Paris on the train? Cant seem to find the prices - are they any family tickets? Also, I was going to book the Disney express baggage service as I arrive before 3pm, but someone mentioned that the hotels (Im staying at Santa Fe) have a little hodiong area where I can drop my bags before checkin for free or a few euros - is this true and how mkuch is it and can I do that on the day I leave to? And does anyone know how much the birthday cake service is and how much the babysitting service is? Thanks Sorry for 100 questions.

I don't think there is a babysitting service at the Santa Fe, sorry. You can add the birthday cake to your package now and pay in advance, it makes it slightly cheaper than paying in euros when you are there (its around £20 if you add it to your package).
Then you just pick a restaurant to have your cake served to you - we usually have it served at Cafe Mickey, but almost every Disney-affiliated restaurant in the parks, the Village or the onsite hotel restaurants will be able to provide this service :).

Has anyone used the DLP iPhone App (OFFICIAL) in the parks before? It says it has live wait times but was wondering if anyone could tell me if they've used it and these times were accurate to those posted outside rides or not?

    Thanks!
