Hi
We are going to DLP next month staying in Davy Crockett ranch and I want to take a hairdryer and straightners, will they work in France? I have a euro plug convertor but wasn't sure that they would be compatible with the electric system there or if I would need to get a travel hairdryer.
Thanks0 -
Hi
I've read in another forum abt booking a disney package for a family of 4 but only for one adult and the 2 kids. When they get to the hotel, they request to add the extra adult into the room and ONLY pay the hotel taxes, which is a couple of euros. Then they buy an annual pass for the extra adult, using the shareholder's discount.
Has anyone heard of or done this? Is this doable at all the disney hotels?
Thanks
yes, i've done this (on my last trip actually). Its fine, in fact I got my extra person added on to my hotel room with no local charges at all, and breakfast is included for the extra person too (to be honest I think my hotel receptionist didn't want to bother with the extra paperwork for the local taxes). You can do this in all the onsite hotels.
For info purposes, I saved £80 on the discounted package price for the same holiday, at the Santa Fe for a 3 night stay, booking the trip this way (one adult on the package, extra person added when we checked in at the hotel).
if you are a family of 4, or you're intending going to DLP when the prices are high anyway, this method could save you some serious money if you prefer to stay onsite.0 -

Hi,
Have looked through the threads, but haven't found what I'm looking for - probably can't see for looking.
We won't get to Calais until around 5pm on a Sunday in May, so rather than pay for a Disney hotel for this night, we're looking for recommendations for a cheap & cheerful hotel no more than an hour away from DLP. Then plan to spend 3 nights at DLP before driving back home. If anyone has any suggestions, I'd be very grateful.
Thank you.0 -
there are loads of hotels in the vicinity of Disney - Val d'Europe, Bussy st Georges, plus the associated hotels which you can book with other agents than Disney.
Just have a google on for cheap hotels Disneyland Paris France. There are a few chain hotels in the area - Ibis, Etap, Premier Classe etc.0 -
Thanks Balletshoes. Have found a Campanile in the area & have always found them clean & good value for money.
Think we'll go with a Disney hotel to give the kids more of a Disney experience, but wondering if anyone thinks this adds or not? Our 2 will be 3 & 4 when we go in May. Trying to do it as cheapily as we can, but want to give the kids a good break as it's the only holiday we'll have this year.0 -
my daughter was 5 first time we went to DLP, we both still prefer to stay onsite if the budget allows - onsite you have the chance of meeting Disney characters at your hotel, and you can walk (even on little legs) to and from your hotel to the parks, you don't have to rely on shuttle buses (although there are those too every 5-10 minutes all day and evening). The biggest advantage in staying onsite is Extra Magic Hours - 2 hours from 8am to 10am where onsite hotel guests have access to most of the rides in Fantasyland and some in Discoveryland, before other guests. This is a real perk when your kids are your age, as some of their favourite rides will be in Fantasyland!0

currently looking at the park passes and not sure whether to get 4 day pass or less?
never been DLP but when i went to Orlando there was loads of other things to do/see apart from disney,is this the case for DLP?
Basically what i am asking from those in the know is there anything else around DLP or is it the only place worth visiting in the area or do i just get the 4 day pass?
staying at the santa fe and will be driving from the UK to dlp if it makes any difference.
If you are staying at the santa fe then shouldn't your park tickets be included in the price for the whole of your stay?0 -
I'm so annoyed with Airmiles, we called in Jan to get a quote and it was reasonable. We had to pay £568 with our airmiles inc flights, staying at Santa Fe. Wanted to go Eurostar instead, but tickets not released yet, so waited to book when tickets came available. Phoned up to book and now its over £900. Apparently there was a Disney special 40% off offer, but expired Jan 31st. But the airmiles rep failed to tell us this. So now I have to tell my kids, sorry trip is off!0
