just wait for 2 or 3 weeks - another offer will come out from Disney :).
  • Hello all
come back from DP on Wednesday and had a great time! :j
Just want to give some info back as a way of thanking and apprecciating the help I got from this forum. I hope someone will benefit from it.

We stayed at the Santa Fe. It was clean and quiet (expected at this time of the year), No need to go extra early for breakfast as the first day we went at 9 and it was busy but we still got pelnty of breakfast and seats without any issue.
The second day we went for breakfast at 7.30 and it was almost empty.
You get breakfast vouchers when you check in, they have a time slot allocated for which time to have breakfast. However we found that as long as you give the vouchers they dont mind if you go late/early, they will still let you in and have breakfast.

Right outside the Santa Fe there is an Esso petrol station with a shop if you need to get some basic necessities like bottled water/drinks. Petrol is dearer so I would not fill up there but wait to come across another petrol station, there are plenty around. This time of the year is perfect because you dont get hot and thirsty all the time and if you leave the drinks out/in the car they are chilled :)
Even if you are not staying at the Santa Fe, you can still get the shuttle there just to go to the Petrol station as the driver does not ask to see the tickets.

In my opinion, if you have to stay at any hotel where you need to rely on the shuttle I wouldnt pay any more to be 'closer'. The shuttle we timed on our stop watch and takes 3 minutes to get to Santa Fe or the Park. I dont see why spend more to get there in 2 or 1 minuntes!

The Disneyland Hotel on the other hand is above the gates so you can walk out of the hotel and straight into the gates, if we go again this is the place we will stay, it looks gorgeous and if you get a room facing the Park you will have excellent viewes :)

We didnt queue for anything it was so quiet there was no need for fast pass tickets. The MOST we had to wait was 5 minutes! Some rides we did twice like the Nemo 'Crush' and the Space Shuttle and Rock and Rollers which are not to be missed.

Didnt go to Cafe Mickey because the prices were ridiculous, for a family of 4 if you want a proper meal if would be easily €100
Instead we got an Autograph book €5 and met the Caracthers in the Park.

If you look at the map there are little icons with Mickey hand, we didnt realize this but this means where the caracthers can be found, although it doesnt give the time.

If you wait for the Parade to finish at the steps of the Castle at 11.00, if it's not too cold the caracthers will come off the 'truck' and meet visitors for pics and autograps. Also if you go to the shows or if you go in that area at the time the shows finish the caracthers will hang around in that area. For example we met Cow Girl, Woody, Pluto etc in Frontierland just after a show.
We did not get to see Minnie though :(

If I have only one critic is that a few rides were closed and 90% of food/drink stalls were closed which in that could I would have used for a hot drink or hot pretzel/doughnut...
McDonald is very busy at lunch time you may have to wait 1/2 to be served. Meals are €6 on everage.

If you are driving, jsut lest than 2 miles away there is a shopping area called Val D' Europe, there is a chinese restaurant we went and I didnt like at all food was very bland. But in the shopping area there is a supermarket if you need to stock up on anything.

Further away around 10m there is Carrefour and a huge shopping centre (which is also walkign distance from the Kyriad Hotel). There we found car Triangles in a pouch with a vest for €2!!! :T

Bring Hat and Gloves, it is colder than here!
All in all I think that this is the best time of the year to go as being low season, facilities are easier to be kept cleaner, no waiting at the rides, lovely pictures with no crowds around!

The car drive is very easy and if you embark at the tunnel early you can get into an earlier crossing for no additional cost either.
Carefull though once you go through the very first barrier there is nowhere you can go for food/drink/shops and you cant leave your car unattended.

Thank you all for your help in answering my questions and I hope this is of help to someone too ;)

    Hi

We are going on Sunday. Was just wondering if they still provide kettles on the rooms? We are staying at the Cheyenne

not sure if they are in all rooms at the Cheyenne - I take my own travel kettle, but you can hire a kettle for a refundable deposit at the Cheyenne.

If you are staying at the santa fe then shouldn't your park tickets be included in the price for the whole of your stay?

tickets not included as i booked it all seperate as it worked out cheaper than the package from disney.
