melissa'smoney wrote: »Hi all,
I'm hoping you can answer a few of my questions! I've been to Wurodisney before but it was a company trip with clients so didn't have to look at the cost.
I would like to take my sister and my 2 nieces, 6yrs and 5yrs for 4 or 5 days by Eurostar
I was looking at the Disney hotel but was gobsmacked by the prices! £1700 for the hotel alone!!! Gosh it's gone up
Read a bit of this thread and the Cheyanne looks a popular choice...
1.Is there a company that offers good deals? There are so many websites not sure where to start?!
Best to book Eurostar seperately?
you've already answered your own question below - Disney themselves for hotel and park tickets (make sure you are booking under a special offer - at least 30% off the full price makes the prices not too bad compared with previous years, and there are always offers) and book Eurostar separately. If you book early enough (some fares are available to book by phone 6 months in advance) you can get return adult Eurostar fares for £69 each.
2.Cheyanne and Explorers are top of my list for hotels...like it to be themed, child friendly (ironic i know!) have characters at breakfast, have a pool and have a free shuttle and ideally not be miles out.
there are no characters at the Explorers, and no swimming pool at the Cheyenne. If you are there for 4 or 5 days, midweek in September out of school holiday time, you won't really need to see characters at your hotel because you'll be able to meet loads of them in the parks. If the price is similar between the 2 hotels you're looking at, I'd go for the Explorers at that time of year/duration of trip. Or, if the Explorers doesn't get the good discounts (it often doesn't as its not an onsite hotel) how about the Sequoia Lodge? It has a great swimming pool, plus characters.
3.Nicest time of year for the weather? Happy to take them out of school. Hot but not too hot.
as above - September midweek after the summer school holidays - lovely weather, low crowds, quiet parks.
The Disney website did seem to come up with reasonable prices, i was looking at September 11...came up as £658 for the Cheyanne but then when i added transport shot up to £1200...does Eurostar cost that much!?!
see above - no Eurostar doesn't cost anywhere near that much
Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you in advance! xx

Brilliant! thank you
Explorers on the [STRIKE]Thomas Cook[/STRIKE] Exploers direct website is coming up at [STRIKE]£295[/STRIKE] £383 (sorry!) with breakfast for mid September for 4 nights! I think that's cheap! :T
i will look at the other you suggested also. Good point about low season and being able to meet the characters in the park.
Eurostar won't give me a £ yet for September so i'll keep an eye out.
thanks again xx

you will be at least another £500, maybe more, in park passes though, to add to the Explorer's room price. adult 5-day passes look like they are around £135, childrens same duration around £120.0

hmmm ok. So a deal with tickets included might be the better option.
The Cheyanne direct with Disney is £665.60 with tickets (£489 on hotel.com without)
Thank you

Just found this site whilst googling, look to have some very good prices. 4 nights 11th Sept
Cheyenne hotel + tickets = £623
Cheyenne + tickets + eurostar = £930
Anyone used or heard of this company?

Hmmm, no. An 0845 number but no registered address from what I have looked at.
I would be wary for the sake of saving a few ££.
Give it a few months more, the offers for September ar enot out yet, I've only seen up to July on the site. You won't be able to book the Eurostar online until 4 months before you go anyway.0 -
Hi,
I have just booked 3 nights staying at the Explorers hotel at the start of Feb half term for £852 for 5 of us, that is traveling by Eurostar and the hotel.
We are going to buy annual season tickets when we get there as they are cheaper than entrance tickets for 4 days / 3 nights, (5 or more people in a family group get 20% off the cost of the annual season tickets) so we'll be able to go back later in the year for another trip.
I booked the train and hotel through Expedia as this worked out a lot cheaper than Disney's own site.
Well worth spending a bit of time trying different companies and combination's re travel, accommodation and entrance tickets.

Just reading back on your post melissa and wanted to add something (without seeming too bossy). Early September is not really a good time to be taking the kids out of school, it would be their first week back after the summer - more so the school will probably no agree on them going. Can you not go another time of the year, say October half term, prices are like for like, have you asked your sister because there is no way I would agree for my kids to be taken out of school for the first week of September. I have taken my kids out but not so early when they are getting used to their new teacher, routine and possibly new kids in class.
Whenever you go, I would suggest that you go Mon - Thurs as it is usually very quiet then and you can get a 4 nights for the price of 3 offer. it gets so busy at the weekend that it takes hours to get round and the queues for everything are huge too. Mon evening - Thursday afternoon is so quiet you can usually stay on the rides to go on again or get off an go round to go on again.0 -
I like Bossy! Fair point! This wasn't a definate date just gauging different prices. My sister is happy to take them out but maybe that week isn't a good one.
I want it to be warm and October won't be so maybe look at earlier...
The reason i looked at Sunday is that the explorers has an discounted offer for checking in on a Sunday...
Will look at Mon-Thurs on your recommendation, thank you xxblue_monkey wrote: »Just reading back on your post melissa and wanted to add something (without seeming too bossy). How much cheaper? if it is just a few ££ I'd stick to the official site as you know you will not lose your money as it is more than unlikely DLP themselves would go bust. That is just me though.
To me, it seems like they are trying to make themselves look the like official site with logos and flash players, just rings bells for me to be honest. Have you googled them?
thanks for the advice, to be on the safe side i printed my disneyland paris quote and took it to thomas cook today who knocked £32 off the disney price
all booked our first ever disney trip we are going in june :T0
