Balletshoes - thank you! Will c&p your post to son so he can see. The name of the hotel will be loved by the 4 yr old! Dream castle! She's going to see lots of Princesses she told me earlier today! Lol

Quite happy to take shuttle bus each day - adds to the fun of the holiday . Sorry if I sounded as though I didn't want that.

Son has checked Dreamcastle but with half board more expensive and doesn't include park tickets for the five days there. Does look good but we think hotel NY as it is partly a birthday celebration for 4 yr old will be fine. Thank you so much for the suggestion though.

where is he looking for the prices?

I looked on Travelrepublic for the hotel, bed and breakfast, plus Dream annual passes bought at the park gates at DLP.

You do have the advantages with the HNY, in that its the smallest onsite hotel, and at that time of year your grandkids will have no problems meeting the characters there each morning. Also its just at the other side of the Village area from the park entrance, so its no more than about 5-10 minutes walk to and from the parks.

Enjoy the rest of your trip planning!
  • I am thinking of taking my 3 girls to DLP in January 2014, I have priced on DLP site and 9 to 12 jan staying at Santa Fe half board and park tickets with flights from East Midlands at £726. Is this a good price, any problems going that time of year any help appreciated. Thanks

are your flights costed separately? if yes, then i'd say thats a good price for 4 of you :). It will be busy on your last 2 days (weekend dates are always busy at DLP) but you'll have 2 very quiet first days to get most things done.

Via the Disneyland site he found the prices. They haven't booked yet - I've just got in and OH is away visiting family. He wants to talk it over with his Dad tomorrow and make a joint decision! :rotfl:

I'm going to check out Travel Republic site ...........:). No doubt I'll be back asking something else tomorrow :p.

    Thanks again!

ok Lara - here are the ideas -

The HNY for your dates is £1038 per room, including park tickets for the duration of your stay, this is apparently 20% off the full price plus free half board plus meal plan (if you would use this anyway, this part is worth around £24 per night booked per adult, and £13 for the 4-year old per night booked (you don't get meal vouchers for the infant)). So thats £2076, of which £244 worth is meals. So really your onsite hotel and park tickets for the Hotel New York is £1832.

To me, thats expensive (when you consider the Sequoia Lodge is so much cheaper).

But, it depends what you want - you mentioned you preferred a hotel close to the park, so I'd guess you wouldn't want to drive or take a free shuttle bus there each morning.
If you did, you could stay at the Dream Castle hotel, which is the same star rating as the Hotel New York, has a swimming pool, indoor ball pit/play area, and all have Dream annual passes for park entry tickets, for a total of around £1455. Dream passes give you free car parking at the main DLP car park each day, 20% off your souvenir shopping, and 10% off all your meals (so its actually a better deal using an AP discount compared to "free" half board dining plans).

So, HNY £2076, Dream castle plus APs plus the same meals as the HNY plan but at 10% discount (£220)= £1675.

Remember, at DLP you don't have to be a guest at any specific hotel to visit the gift shops, public areas, character meets, restaurants and bars (this includes the Disneyland hotel, I spend quite a lot of time there each trip even though I've never stayed there).

Thanks for this example, I know its not for me but its helped me work out how to compare things. Sequoia deal is not that bad.

Other school yard mums are telling my wife that its too cold at that time of year so she is getting cold feet, pardon the pun.
I spend less than I earn and if I can't afford it I don't buy it. I'm guessing that makes me a money saver.
  • Help!

Me, the missus and two stepkids are off to Eurodisney soon. One of the kids has a learning disability but it is not obvious from looking at her. She gets DLA and has a bus pass. All good so far

We have heard that you can get reduced entry if you have a disabled child but on going onto the disney site it says you need a "disability card" or blue badge or a letter/certificate from your Doctor.

We have been to our Doctor and he has said yes, he will do a letter but what do we want on it?

This is where I am stumped, I am assuming it involves a description of the disability but what else could go on there? I don't want to get to the gate and find out we have a problem. As for a certificate I guess that the only certificates doctord issue are "fit notes", would one of there do (she is only 10)

    Don't know what to do?

You get one free carers ticket per disabled person as well as the back exit pass which is a god send (we have 2 autistic children and queing is non existant you try and control a 6ft 7 giant on a bad day (he ran into the crowd whilst dreams was on , on one trip.) our two have annual passes which means we get in for free !! If you need any info pm me as we go every 6 weeks or so

Offsite with annual passes could be a fair bit cheaper than what i quoted for lara as their party needs dream annual passes ~ you may not(it depends if there are any AP blackout dates). also the explorers hotel is the one to compare in price with the sequoia lodge, they are the same star rating.

its generally a couple of degrees colder in winter at DLP compared with the UK so yes, likely to be very cold in early january.

Have just booked flight to Paris for beginning July 2014. Now where to stay. There will be 5 of us. 4 classed as adults and an 11 year old. Wanting somewhere near to Disney but not too expensive as will be in parks most of the time. Last time we went stayed in Dream Castle but price has rocketed. Should I be looking to book hotel now or see what deals come out at the start of the year??

The total price included flights which were £394, just wondering if I would be better off just having 3 days in the week. I am not sure my 4 year old would be able to do 4 days of walking round and if quiet will get plenty done in 3 days. Been to travel agent today and they got same price so may book through DLP website and get some cashback too. Thanks

The explorers hotel do rooms for 6 (a standard room for 4 with an adjoining bunk bedded room) or there are several apartments in val d,europe which take 5. its one stop on the RER local train to and from DLP the journey takes less than 5 minutes and costs around 1.50 euros per journey. there is a free shuttle bus from val d,europe to and from the parks too.

have a look on travelrepublic for disneyland paris hotels ~ most of the ones in the area will be bookable on there.
