Read through this thread, quickly! Son and family live abroad and suggested this morning we all go to Disneyland Paris 2-6th December. Children will be 4 years and 18 months. They would fly to Paris and we'd possibly take Eurostar as never been on it before!

Balletshoes - could you advise if this would be a good time to see Christmas at Disney please? OH and I were looking to go to Dubai for five days but going to Disney with the grandchildren is far more exciting!

Sequoia Lodge Hotel son has looked at. Would prefer hotel closer to parks personally. Unless anyone has been and can vouch for hotel? I suppose watching excitement of granddaughter meeting Minnie and friends is more important than which hotel we stay in?!

your son's idea is spot-on for Christmas season at DLP. Monday 2nd til 6th is loads of time at that time of year, its all midweek, the parks will be lovely and quiet, the Christmas themeing will be in full swing, and the Sequoia Lodge is by far the best-themed for winter season too :).

Don't worry about the Sequoia Lodge, its no more than 10 minutes walk around the lake from the entrance to the parks. You can visit the Disneyland Hotel bars, restaurants, gift shop and meet the characters there, no matter where you are staying, and really, thats the only hotel which is closer to the Sequoia Lodge at DLP.

Is this a recent change, as I was told 2 years when I enquired about this at City Hall last year?

I rang Disney around 15th August and was told that the letter has to be dated within 3 months. The woman on the phone may have been
    mistaken though.

Thanks balletshoes! We are now going to drive as opposed to Eurostar. We're used to driving to Spain so France will be a doddle! Off to check out the sites you recommended for passes in to the park :).

Just a thought do you think the trip is too long for the little ones or about right please? Many thanks.

with that length of time, and with the children being so young, you can take time out if they are getting tired or overexcitable, have a couple of hours back at your hotel, go for a swim etc. It will be lovely relaxing length of time for you all, as you can just go with the flow.

you can only eat at your own hotel for breakfast. however, at the Santa Fe there may be an option for you to swap one (or more) of your hotel breakfasts for breakfast in the park instead. This is free, its the same food etc, but it means you can go to the park for EMH and then have breakfast without having to leave the park, ready for the main park day at 10am. A 9.15am or 9.30am timeslot is good for this :). You can't book this in advance, its not on every day, and its subject to availability. You ask at your hotel reception for breakfast in the park, they will let you know if its available on any days of your stay.

You can pay extra (a lot extra) to have breakfast at Cafe Mickey, but I don't think its good value for money - you can have lunch or dinner there for cheaper.

And you can eat breakfast at any of the other onsite hotels, but you have to pay, you don't get any discount because you are an onsite hotel guest.

As for your half board vouchers, you can use them in a lot of table and buffet service restaurants in the resort. When you get them, the list of participating restaurants will be on them.

You can also use them at cash value in lots of other participating table and buffet service restaurants in the resort - go get a glossy brochure from your local travel agents, the list of participating restaurants is in there :).

thank you, thats a great help.

ive read about cafe mickey, and not sure whether to include it or not? think breakfast was £50 something and lunch or dinner £90  but this will probably be the only time we visit so might splash out?

i think i read that some mornings in the hotel, a different character will come and visit in reception for photos etc, do you know if thats correct?

also heard the breakfast time can be a bit hectic and its best to go early.

so we wont be able to eat at a different hotel with our meal vouchers?

will have to get a brochure then for more info on the meals, thank you!!

are there any other extras you recommend, ie shows etc?

i know people have probably asked these questions before on this thread. ive had a look through quite a few of the pages but there are sooo many.

thanks again for your help! :T

sorry, i have one more question...just popped online to check my account details and it says: Free 24 hours luggage room available.
we were planning on paying the extra £16 per adult for disney express so that we could leave our luggage, but would we need it now. not sure if anyone knows what the free luggage room is?
    we have booked eurostar direct.
    thanks

you won't need disney express - just take your luggage to your hotel on your first day, check in there, get your park tickets etc, and if your room isn't ready yet, leave your luggage at the Santa Fa luggage store. This is free, and is right next to reception. Then when you come back to the hotel after your day in the parks, you just pick up your room key and your cases. The onsite hotel luggage stores are all fully-manned secure stores.
