Hi
Have been skimming this thread on & off for a while but now i'm seriously considering booking it's time to ask questions!!!
Would be booking for 2 adults & 2 children - 1 who turns 4 this month; other turns 7 in Feb; so tied to school times. Have read that weekends/school hols get very busy. Next summer (2014) our school doesn't go back until Sept 8th, would the week before be a good time to go???? I think most schools go back at some point the week before, have looked at the web link posted above about school dates (my French is very rusty!!!) but don't see the dates yet.
Are there cheaper days to travel/start a trip??? How much would we realistically be looking at.... would probably Eurostar as we're not far from London. I don't expect anyone to do the legwork for me..... I just don't really know where to start looking!
TIA, BevMake £10 a day challenge = Aiming for £100 a month
May - £100.68/£100 (£80.68 cash & £20.00 vouchers)
June - £121.04/£100 (£91.04 cash & £30.00 vouchers)
July - £22.11/£100 (£22.11 cash & £0.00 vouchers)0 -

for Eurostar, keep checking - the fares are already bookable by phone to DLP from London up to mid-July 2014, so the next batch of fares they release will include your proposed travel dates (I'm guessing December or January release dates, but you can always phone Eurostar and ask them). Don't wait for the fares to be released online, as by then they will already by expensive.
the dates to avoid checking in are Friday or Saturday, any other day of the week is cheaper (comparatively).
I don't think there are any decent offers on from DLP for August 2014 yet (ideally you're looking for the equivalent of 40% off or more) but you've got ages to decide about that.
To get an idea of what price you'd be looking at onsite, have a look at the official site, work out full price, then work out 40%.
If that looks expensive, there are other ways of staying very nearby and still getting the most out of the DLP parks. But until you have your rough ball park figure for onsite, I don't think theres any need to go into that- as I said, you have plenty of time.

Hi,
We are going to Paris and staying in the explorers hotel this Friday.
Few questions
1. Whats the cheapest transport to get from CDG to hotel
2. How do you book the dinner or lunch with disney characters. Thinking the one with woody would be best?
Thank you0 -

the cheapest transport will depend on how many are in your party and what time of day you are travelling -
you have 3 main options -
VEA coach, which is 18 euros per adult, 13 euros per child, each way.
TGV train (check raileurope or sncf.fr to get an idea of prices, timetable etc, but you'll need to either book your tickets today to get them sent to your home before travel, or pay for them when you arrive at CDG).
shared/private shuttle, booked in advance, with the likes of rstransports, ezyshuttle.com, interprestige or tioshuttle (they all have their own websites for quotes/bookings etc).
to book dinner/lunch with the characters, just phone the disney dining reservation line on 0033 160 304050 (use a cheap dial code to France first to get the call cheap). You'll need to know what restaurant, what date, and what time, you want prior to calling.
There is no character dining which guarantees you'll meet Woody at DLP now.0 -

As balletshoes states, no guarantees for seeing Woody at a specific place but Cowboy Cookout seems likeliest (saw him there during teatime last year) as it fits with the surroundings and he is often in the Critter Corale.
The booking for our Cowboy Cookout meal was booked with our package and recall wasn't cheap but I don't think prebooking is always necessary.
Unfortunately the cowboy cookout is no longer a character meal venue its back to its usual counter service restaurant status. critter corale is no longer used outside of christmas season for character meets either, whuch is a great shame because its a great place for it in my opinion.0 -

Did not know that, so thanks balletshoes. Only went as far as Big Thunder Mountain in that direction this time, so not checked out cowboy cookout or critter corale recently. Have managed to have a quick look on the DLP site.
Cheapest coming up is Santa Fe (looks good, kids both Cars fans!) travelling 1st Sept-5th Sept is £693. Offer of 2 nights & days free.
Understand this includes breakfast, but park tickets????
Is this a good price???? Or could i get cheaper????
Would look to booking Eurostar asap, how much roughly are cheapest tkts?? And it goes direct???
So then i just need to budget for getting to London.......
And meals/drinks......... How much would people suggest for 4, kids have good appetites
Eeeekkkk, getting excited, but hoping i'm not jumping the gunneed to make sure we can afford it first!

yes, that price includes park tickets for you all for 5 days. If you don't want to go for that long, you might find a 40% offer comes along for your dates, which would make 3nights/4days cheaper than that price of £693.
A very quick calculation on Annual passes for you as park tickets and then nearby higher-standard hotels with free shuttle would probably be in the region of £360 for your annual passes, plus around £320 for your hotel, so a similar price to staying onsite at the Santa Fe for your 4 nights. I wouldn't book anything for your hotel for ages yet, DLP are still coming out with discount offers for now until March at the moment, so there will be many more offers to come for your dates.

yes, direct tickets start at £69 return for adults, £49 return for children - but you will have to be up early in the morning the first day they are released by phone to get those prices.

there are convenience stores inside the train station at the gates of DLP to buy your snacks and drinks (or take loads with you if going by Eurostar, you get a very generous luggage allowance). Don't buy snacks and drinks inside the parks, they are stupidly expensive, and you can take food and drinks into the parks with you, security will not confiscate them.
For your main meals, lunch and dinner, for the 4 of you, you can eat well on around £100 per day (you can do it cheaper though, as there is a McDonalds and an Earl of Sandwich, as well as loads of other counter service places, in the Village area, which is right next to the parks). Counter service meals inside the parks are not particularly good value, and if you all have good appetites there are many buffet restaurants in the resort, they might work out better for you.
Have a look at DLRPMagic - there is a restaurant menu part of that site, with prices and reviews, to give you some idea of whats available, and at what price roughly.0
