It sounds luxurious I think you will have lots of uneaten food and will definitely get some change from it.
It is fab that you are having a nice Christmas to yourselves.
I think my xmas shop is usually £50 and that's going all out for a Christmas meal and I take extra bits for when I visit friends also on Boxing Day, Xmas Eve etc.
Only a few days to go hurrah!
I was thinking that I may cut this down a bit, maybe remove the parsnips so that the main is just turkey, sprouts, Yorkshire puddings and pigs in blankets?
The whole amount does include things like table wear, decorations etc. I think I'm going to take the list with the prices to places like Aldi and Lidl, as my list is mainly formed of Sainsburys goodies... and this is my making everything myself from scratch!
The leftovers should last me a while too!FTB House Deposit - £28,505.00 / £40,000 - 71.26%

It was my last day with my (now ex) employer yesterday!
Considering there was a bit on tension towards the end, they treated me really nicely. I was treated to a pub lunch & when I got back to my desk I was presented with a lovely card that everyone had signed, a bottle of prosecco, Thorntons chocolates and a GORGEOUS dainty Links of London bracelet (those aren't cheap!)
Went to the pub after work for a 'quiet one' and my MD said "riiiiiight, we're going out!"
We popped into a few bars and after a few too many drinks, I decided to buy a round which cost me £50.00  but that was the only spend of the night so my CC is sitting at £100.00 now - but it was definitely worth it.
I'm spending tonight in (giving my friend a lift in a couple of hours but I'll be in my jim-jams) and tomorrow it's my friends birthday, so having a nice lunch somewhere
QMee is helping me out, sitting at £2.00 at the mo - going to build this and put it towards my CC. I don't have to pay my CC until mid-December due to the date I used my CC & the bill cut off date, so that's handy.
Other than that... mental preparation for Monday morning!FTB House Deposit - £28,505.00 / £40,000 - 71.26%

I am glad you had a nice evening out. Some credit card spends are good think of the memories you will have later in life of the nice people that you did work with and this night.
Good on you Lala.Aiming for a minimal spend 20220 -
Evening fellow Money-Savers! :j
How are we all?
It was my first day at my new job today... & it was AMAZING! :T
I'm so unbelievably happy! Everyone was so friendly and helpful. I was given a company laptop and shortly I will be receiving a company mobile.
I went for lunch with the girl who is training me up (she is lovely) and she wants to arrange drinks so I can get to know everyone
I feel like I can really make a difference - and an impact - here!
The VP will be in the office on Friday, so until then I'm just getting to grips with everything.
My rent is due tomorrow  Haha!
I'll give an update on Friday, as this will be my new payday and I can assess a little into the future (I'll be getting a weeks wage from my new job on Friday) and on the 28th, I'll be getting my final wage (two weeks worth), from my prior employer.FTB House Deposit - £28,505.00 / £40,000 - 71.26%

Happy Friday everyone!
How are we all?
I got paid from my employer today for my first week of work & received a (really old fashioned!) pay slip in the post! It is nice to have a hard copy though instead of those blimmin' electronic copies!
I need to not spend anything until the end of next week (when I get paid by my old employer) as currently I'm waaaaaay short for the month.
That should be easy to do, I'm staying in tonight (having a bit of a pamper session!) and tomorrow I have so many errands to run, but none of which involve spending; then I'll be spending the evening at my friend's house with a bottle or two of wine.
Sunday is my new 'chill & prep for the Monday ahead' day

Hi everyone!
How are we all?
It feels so long since I've updated my diary, but I've now been sent my final payslip this evening from my ex-employer, so I can finally budget until next payday from my new employer, freedom, yay!
So totalling it all up, I will have in my account tomorrow - £2,367.00.
Final pay, including pro-rated owed holiday from my old employer (hence higher than normal) and it includes some savings I've kept in my current account.
So as of tomorrow, this will happen:
- £100.00 will now be put aside for the renewal of my contents insurance (due Jan).
- 3x Christmas presents will be paid for - this leaves a present for one 1 year old left to buy, then I'm done
- £45.00 monthly savings will be transferred into my 'car' account.
- £190.00 budgeted for my 'House Deposit' savings, but I will re-address this on the 1st, when interest is applied to my account.
- All rent & utilities will be covered as normal.
Quite chuffed as I thought I'd be left short this month! Happy Christmas to meeeee! :beer:FTB House Deposit - £28,505.00 / £40,000 - 71.26%

Hi everyone!
It's been a while since I've updated my patch!
How are we all?
I'm still sluggishly saving but will keep at it nevertheless! Now, however, I have the start of a pension! That definitely reassures me to a certain extent. I also found out that I get a pay review in April! I definitely was not expecting that after only being at this company since November!
Another bonus is that I get such amazing discounts at the company I now work for, it will help massively when I do my next shop for cleaning products! :T
I'm so glad I saved a bit for Christmas, it's helped me no end! Just trying to reach my next £5 Swagbucks voucher and that's another present off my list! This sounds RIDICULOUS, but I've decided I'm going to put £10.00 a month away for Christmas, starting January and add to it when I can.
I've got £140.00 due on my credit card but I'm waiting for three refunds to come through, so hopefully a chunk of that will go (and the bill is not due until the end of December).
I will be honest, this time of year is already hard to deal with.. no longer being in a long-term relationship for the first time in 5 years at the age of 26... even though I know it's absolutely for the best!
Going to make sure i spend as much time as possible with my friends and family... even though everyone seems to have little families of their own now xxxFTB House Deposit - £28,505.00 / £40,000 - 71.26%
Emergency Savings - £750.00 / £5,000 - 15.00%

Well done on starting your pension. This is great as I think it is another asset!
It's great that you can have cheap products due to your company at least your house will be v clean!!!
I bet it feels tough being on your own when you were with the rat for so long but I don't think you will be on your own for long. I am sure this will change v soon. Stay happy, continue to save and inspire. swxxxxAiming for a minimal spend 20220
