Here's hoping you get the extra wage rise and job. Keep fleabaying and you will be fine. I got rid of loads of clothes over the summer and made a fair bit - it paid for a second hand tv for my bedroom.

I am now deciding what else I can do to make money as I have pretty much fleabayed everything in my house that is surplus to requirements.

I have lots of desk work to do at home and I have come home from work early. Weather is not exactly inspiring.
Aiming for a minimal spend 2022
  • Best of luck with the interview, and with haggling with the recruiter. I'm going through an eBaying phase myself.
ESA (Support Group), PIP (Care Segment), eBay
If I get my hands on some money, I'll kiss its green skin, and I'll ask its dirty face, "where the Hell have you been?".

    Morning guys! :D

Thank you both! I made a hard decision yesterday... I decided to cancel the interview scheduled for this afternoon.
Although job searching can be difficult and a long process, the next role I find myself in, I will be in for the long-term.
A 30 minute drive one-way, (based on no traffic), for a 2k rise, but on one income isn't really what I want.
I'm aiming for my next salary to be (at the least), £30k - I'm on 28k at the moment (and I'm 26). I think I can find a role in the early-mid thirties, but I definitely want to hit £30k and a few recruiters have told me that is definitely achievable.
So I'm going to be a little picky-er with my roles. At the moment, I feel like I'm applying for everything, to the point when recruiters ring me, I don't remember what I applied for! This of course will make the process longer, but I need to find my enthusiasm again and that will come only with having an excitement for the role itself.

    Two on the burner:
    - The local one 5-10 minutes from my current flat (recruiter has passed on my details, waiting to see if they want to interview me)
    - The one I've waited for an AGE to hear back on, where the VP has been away; will continue & wait.

Last night I earned another £10.00 voucher from Argos (Consumer Pulse) - These vouchers are being put towards my small list of 'my' things to buy (that are not necessities). Only though, when there are no birthdays etc lurking.
I also earned another £10.00 for my Amazon Christmas fund. Since I started, I've now acumilated £45.00 in Amazon vouchers via SwagBucks and have matched this with £40.00 of money I've been putting away each month without harming the bank balance... The Christmas fund is at £85.00 - I wouldn't have this fund if I had never discovered MSE Forums or SBs!

Another day or (probably), twiddling my thumbs and clock-watching... I'm going to bring the laptop into work today so I can work on personal bits during my lunch if it's quiet (which it will be!)

Off-topic question: What do you guys find 'sells' your items on Ebay? It is a lengthy description?
I have a tonne of items to sell, ideally this month due to paying off my CC, but it's going a bit slow at the moment?

    Hi everyone!

    I HAVE GOOD NEWS!

I have a second (& final, thank god!) interview tomorrow at the 'taking forever' company! Managed to swap my half day off without any questions! I'm just waiting for them to come back with a confirmed time slot, then I'm good to go!

I'm very, very nervous right now!
My evening plans have changed to:
    - Wash hair
    - Paint nails
    - Iron outfit
    - Last minute going over of notes!

YES finally you heard back. Good luck! Maybe this is the result you need!!!

Don't panic about the mix up with your CC being in credit, you're in the enviable position that a small debt will soon be paid off and forgotten. You're doing fantastically. Big hugs for you! xxx

    Thanks ladies!

The interview went REALLY well :D Obviously I don't know the outcome, but he did say at the end of the meeting:
"Some feedback - this has been really, really positive. I cant give you an answer yet, but that's only because I have to meet the other two candidates".
He said I will hear back mid-late next week -

The irony was, as I was parking up to go into my interview, the SAME company e-mailed me saying "We know you have an interview at our XXX branch, but we have this vacancy for you at XXX branch - please let us know if your interested" - Feels very positive! :T

Of course, I'll let you guys know when I do!

For now, more Money Saving! :D
It will be a NSD tomorrow, Saturday I need to pop into town to pick up my Argos order (paid for with my Consumer pulse vouchers) and my auntie's Pandora charm (budgeted £30.00 for this).
I'm meeting a good friend's girlfriend for the first time on Saturday, we're going for a few drinks (budgeted £20.00) but I'm getting a lift there & back, so all good :)

Feeling very happy at the moment!

hi well done on interview. In answer to your earlier question i first ebayed lots of CDs for a fair whack of money. Then i ebayed lots of nice clothes a handbag and some nice make up and made a fair amount. I don't have much left to ebay. I wish i did.

What is swag bucks as it works for you? I want to find another way to make some money.

Hi Savingwannabe, thanks for the luck! :)

Hmmm I don't have any CDs.. I have books, but no-one seems to want to buy them (even though they're in really good condition!) I guess they're just not popular titles. Unfortunately, the same goes for the sites you can exchange them for cash.

Swagbucks is AMAZING. it's accounted for the majority of my Christmas fund!
Basically you register with the website and you gain 'swagbucks' for watching videos, doing surveys and other things and once you have enough SB's, you can transfer them in for vouchers!
    Really works for me! :D

    Evening everyone!

    Feeling rather on track today!
I was off work on Monday as it was my auntie's birthday & we had a 'girly' day out in town; she got her nails done and we went out for lunch and had a little shop. I was REALLY good & didn't buy anything, I just browsed!

I sold a second item on Ebay today, sales total a pitiful amount (under £10.00), but I will pay off my CC! £46.46 left to clear (due date is the 26th October). I have a tenner I'm breaking into tomorrow - using it to buy some salad dressing and lettuce; the rest will go on the CC. My expenses of £136.00 are due before the payment date so it will be fine, I just don't like counting on money I haven't received yet!

I brought a HUGE case of gold and red baubles from Primark the other day - only a fiver! Considering the tree I want (artificial) is from Tesco for £15.00, my first ever Christmas will cost me £20.00 (as I already have a decent Christmas present fund set aside!)
I was living with my ex from August-NYE and we actually spent Christmas at our retrospective parents houses, so this is officially my first ever Christmas 'away' from home, with my kitten Loki.
I guess I'm excited as it's 'mine?' - everything is up to me and it feels really nice :p
Still waiting to hear about the outcome of the job... any day now... Every time my phone rings, I hold my breath lol!
