Hi everyone!!
I'm very, very, very happy today (regardless of the rubbish I've been dealt at work because) ...
I GOT THE JOB!:D:D
£29K, (not £30k which I was hoping for); still, a £1k rise for a shorter commute.
I will shortly have the benefit on an on-site gym, pension and bonus scheme and health insurance!! SO HAPPY!!!:D:D
Thank you all for your support!! Nearer payday I need to do another fund-related update as there's not been a lot going on for a while as my circumstance hasn't really changed apart from the increase in Swagbucks! :TFTB House Deposit - £28,505.00 / £40,000 - 71.26%

Happy Saturday morning to you all!
I received my contract in today's post! Yaaaaay!!! :j
BUT I have a dilemma regarding my notice period - my post is here.
Very excited, popping in to see mum and dad tomorrow and going to bring it with me so they can have a read.
A higher salary, slightly shorter hours and all these benefits to sign on to! BEST WEEKEND EVER!
Also got a chunk of my CC paid off, so only £27.00 to 'raise' until the due date on the 26th October; hopefully my expenses will be paid by then!FTB House Deposit - £28,505.00 / £40,000 - 71.26%

Hurrah to the best weekend ever. I read the advice given on the boards to you regarding notice and I trust them. I hope work don't make you feel uncomfortable. At the end of the day you have to do what is best for you. If they have any sense they will match and beat the offer of the new employer if they don't you owe them no loyalty.
Times are pretty cut throat and you have to put yourself first. I have seen people that have worked so hard being thrown on the scrap heap by employers so I think you are doing exactly the right thing.
Well done you. Less travel time, a bigger company offering you more pay. It doesn't get any better. Yay.Aiming for a minimal spend 20220 -

It's all 'official' now!
I handed in my notice at work (last day with be FRIDAY 13th November, of all days!) :rotfl:
I am still allowed the annual leave I have on Friday which is nice - not that I'm doing anything exciting! Just taking my car for a free repair as it's under warranty!
I also spoke to my two closest colleagues personally (friends really), everyone else will get an e-mail from HR & I also signed & returned my contract to the new place.
All very exciting!:T
I received a letter from the letting agents, asking if I was extending my tenancy (it runs out in January). I've asked them for 6 months instead of a year, so they are just waiting for the landlady to get back to them (fingers crossed!).
Everything is falling into place! Just need to win the lottery and get on the property ladder! :beer:FTB House Deposit - £28,505.00 / £40,000 - 71.26%

Hi everyone! :hello:
I have a day off work today as I booked my car to be taken in for a repair - dad's a mechanic and noticed fluid leaking out of my car last week; turns out the radiator is leaking!
On the plus side, my car is still under warranty, so this shouldn't cost me a thing!
So currently, I am chilling out at dads (he has the day off too) as it's nearer to the garage and he was kind enough to pick me up & will drop me off later.
I'm spending the time going over my finances & work have temporarily made things a little tough (not intentionally), due to not having any clearly defined processes when it comes to paying expenses!
Everything I expense for work, I pay with on my credit card as I have that grace period where is it not due immediately, and it will not come out of my current account.
Expenses are usually paid prior to the date my credit card bill is due.
My credit card bill of £150.00 is now due on the 26th October & I have not been paid expenses as it is 'not a high priority'. I've had reassurance it will be paid by the end of the month. So I've had to move money around (which I'm not a fan of doing!) and pay my CC bill with some money I've put 'aside' in my current account, only to reimburse myself at a later date.
Now my accounts spreadsheet is all messed up! :rotfl: Why can't things happen as they are meant to? LOL
Thank god it's payday on Wednesday; I can make some sense of this!
Also, I don't want to ruffle any feathers before I leave (in only 3 weeks!) :eek:FTB House Deposit - £28,505.00 / £40,000 - 71.26%
Emergency Savings - £750.00 / £5,000 - 15.00%

Thank you!
Only (just under) three weeks to go! All going so very quickly!
I booked Friday off to take my car in for it's repair (they could only offer those 'stand-by' appointments (Monday-Friday) and by 3:00pm, I called as I had not heard anything & they had FORGOTTEN about my car! I booked a whole day off & wasted an entire day - for nothing!
Luckily, due to my (reasonable and factual!) rant, they are picking my car up from my workplace tomorrow and dropping it back before I finish work.
Payday on Wednesday - I can't wait to have some money so that I can calculate & re-assess my position!FTB House Deposit - £28,505.00 / £40,000 - 71.26%
Emergency Savings - £750.00 / £5,000 - 15.00%

Morning everyone!
Another payday, another morning sorting out my accounts
- £100.00 has now been put aside in my 'car' fund (I save £45.00 every month for this - insurance, breakdown cover & MOT. I pay this annually to save money but put a bit aside each month ready for next year so I'm not frantically scrambling for money! New insurance & breakdown balance came out yesterday & MOT due in March, so started from £0.00 again!
- £50.00 put aside for my TV license renewal fee for the flat (£145 for the year - even though I may not be here that long!)
- £50.00 put aside for my contents renewal fee for the flat (normally get this for under £100.00)
- £70.00 in the Christmas Fund
- £20.00 cash put aside for an artificial Christmas tree I've seen in Tesco for £15.00.
- All utilities/food/rent covered as always.
I'm a bit annoyed, as I'm never in the red, but my spreadsheet calculations show that I am in the red after all my outgoings go out... by exactly the amount of my CC bill which is the amount of my expenses!
I'm going to have to speak to someone in accounts today - I really don't want to leave on an angry note!
So this all leaves me at £0.00 (so NO socialising budget)
I've put allocated money (£50) aside for Friday as catching up with my friend over a drink and I'm meant to be going out on the 6th for dinner (which will be about £20.00 if i'm strict), so I need to find this £20.00 from somewhere.
Normally a lack of socialising really doesn't bother me as admittedly, I'm a bit of a hermit, but these four walls are getting a bit claustrophobic! I'm going to try to Ebay some items after the 1st to free up some cash!
Dad and I calculated how much I would take home on my new £29k salary but taking into account the pension deduction (as I've signed up - it's not really an option not to! I'm 26, going to be 27 in May with no type of pension savings at all).
I actually bring home £30.00 less! That will be extremely tight but worth it and it has to be done! The company will give me money off my big food shop so I may save that money there.
I'll be updating my signature after the 1st, once the interest has been applied to my accountsFTB House Deposit - £28,505.00 / £40,000 - 71.26%
Emergency Savings - £750.00 / £5,000 - 15.00%
