If your comfortable and it makes you happy, then go for it. Do I find it attractive, no. Not at all. But that shouldn't bother you, nor should anyone.
One thing that does strike me about your posts, you chose to go against convention, to stand out from the norm, to defy common perceptions and beliefs and making a bold statement, then are shocked when people find it unusual?
I could dye my hair pink tomorrow, wear nothing but lady gaga knockoffs, and would fully expect funny looks. You cannot force acceptance of personal choices any more than society can dictate you as an individual.
Again, good for you for being you. Don't let people get to you, but don't expect people to change their beliefs / valuesimmediately just because you have.
This ^^^ :T
You put it so much better than I could though...
I'm sorry OP, but the fact is that the vast majority of people in the western world do not find excessive body hair on a woman attractive. In fact, most find it very unsightly.
There is no need to mock and be cruel towards people of course, but the fact still remains that people don't generally find hairy women attractive (or women with excessive body hair showing.)
I think the OP expected a huge 'you go GIRL!' kind of response from everyone on here, and she got a few responses like that, but not as many as she would have liked.
Speaks volumes really. Most people are not fond of lots of body hair on a person (especially women...)cooeeeeeeeee :j :wave:0 -
I'm not fond of certain body hair, on either gender, though it's generally more ' socially acceptable' for men to be hairy, and women less so (in the culture here.) Legs and arms I couldn't care about, but underarms, face and pubic areas I don't like in their natural state (though of course this varies by person!)
And since we're discussing body hair, I have a question about trimming pubic hair. AFAIK lots of women trim, for hygiene reasons I suspect, and thus regular trimming becomes 'necessary.' I was introduced to trimming at about the age of 12, by a friend when changing after swimming at school!
I have two teenage daughters and the subject has come up, but I'd quite like to know if pubic hair stops growing at a certain point if you never trim it, without it being overly bushy?
And is it common for men to trim?
I know, that's 2 questions! ...0 -

As a man I certainly give it a trim if it's getting really bushy, I get the feeling it's common practice for women to trim or shave it all off - I guess it depends on the individual.0 -

You stopping shaving was a conscious decision, I'd probably stare and laugh too. Have some self-respect.
It's actually a great comparison.
Because I didn't CHOOSE to be born super hairy either.
Yes, I CHOSE to stop shaving. But they choose to not cover their scars/missing limbs too. Just like they should if they wish too, why should anybody have to cover anything just to fit in with what people think is beautiful or not?
Furthermore, my fwb doesn't have a hair fetish. He has been used to me for the last 10.5 years being completely waxed/plucked/tweezed/lasered/epilated/threaded to within an inch of my life.
He does not LIKE it. But he doesn't have a choice in it because it's MY hair and if he doesn't like it, I'll show him where he can go.
But he loves ME as a person and he tolerates it because he knows that I don't want to shave it right now.
And if I do choose to shave in the future, it will be because I decided too. Not because anyone thinks less of me or some man is not attracted to it, pfft.
And if you wish to leave your wife because she chooses not to shave something that naturally grows on her body, You do not love HER and she deserves better than your shallow a$$ anyway!!!!Saved so far - £28,890.97

I shave my pits every month although I am not a very hairy person so I don't shave my legs or anywhere else. (Tho I shave my pubes.):rotfl:
I don't get what the OP says she gets though (like itching like she has an STD, and a problem with ingrown hairs,) but then I don't have very thick or coarse hair as my natural hair colour is light to midbrown and my body hair is fine and not terribly noticeable. Maybe it's people who are very dark that have more problems with ingrown hair and itching when they shave?
A lot of dark body hair on women looks awful in my opinion. Hairy legs, hairy pits, mammoth bush :rotfl:
I believe it is much more hygenic to shave it off. When my pits and ladygarden are getting untidy and overgrown, I feel dirty.(•_•)

First off I can't believe you are still comparing body hair with scarring and missing limbs. How do you cover up a missing limb? Are you talking about prosthetics? A false leg=excess body hair....um yeah, I'm not getting the comparison.
You're obviously on some kind of ill-judged feminist crusade here, but not getting the response you're looking for. Deliberately choosing to not shave, when you're physically able, is just gross and unhygienic. I'm 100% certain you FWB prefers you shaven, and that's probably why he's a FWB and not a boyfriend - think about it!0 -

The term often used is manscaping, yes lots of men do it to a certain degree.
Whilst not often talked about, general rule I've always heard, shave where there should be no hair and scissors to keep everything else down.
Apparently there is a great deal of social pressure on male teen to obtain that hairless look, from the !!!!!! industry.
Shaving must be a nightmare for women, but I cannot image how it must be for men in certain areas.0 -
Why is it gross when a woman doesn't shave under her arms, but totally normal when a man doesn't?Mortgage when started: £330,995

The best thing about these threads is finding out posters you thought were women are actually men, and vice versa.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0
