Oh please no! I can see it now, the next big selfie trend #growthehair women with arms in the air, arm pit hair wafting in the wind!

Everyone should be able to do whatever they want regarding their body hair, and should be able to be totally confident in their decision, but also, don't be outraged and offended if someone expresses their distaste towards it. If you're offended by that, you're obviously not as comfortable with your decision as you make out you are OP.

Ha ha, I'm not on Twitter, but if Domayne is she could get herself a bit of dubious celebrity status if she wanted :rotfl:

I found this on the net

You do a double-take at first, because we're no longer used to seeing our bodies as they are naturally. It shouldn't make any difference, whether someone chooses to shave or not.

    I've been Money Tipped!

I agree. From my own experience, there is a bit more to it than pure aesthetics but I'm not entirely comfortable discussing it on here.

Yep, some people do that with hair too. :DBoth sexes. :D

munt is usually used these days to signify someone ugly and/or disgusting. Like a women who refuses to shave.

So rude. And inflammatory. I think you must either be on a wind up, or completely arrogant with a major short coming (like being extremely ugly for example.)

You might dislike hairy women, or not find them attractive. Which are both understandable. But disgusting? How old are you? I would pull my kids up for saying an unshaven person was disgusting (which is even worse than saying you find body hair disgusting; you actually said you find an unshaven *person* disgusting.)

Why should it be acceptable to publicly laugh at, or pass comment on, a stranger's appearance?

Would it be ok if I were to ridicule someone because they have a port wine stain on their face but have chosen not to use camouflage makeup?

How would you know that the hirsute woman you are laughing at doesn't have polycystic ovaries causing an excess of hair?

It isn't acceptable. Where did I say it was? Whilst some people might think things to themselves regarding someone's appearance, the vast majority of us would never dream of saying it to the persons face....but some people would.

Whilst it is never right to do that and to openly mock someone to their face, don't be surprised if it does happen. If you are totally confident in your decision and feel happy with the choice you have made, then someone else's opinion should not matter a jot to you. The fact it does to the OP suggests that she is not totally confident with her decision, either that or she should try to accept that there are people out there who will comment and stare. It's human nature, and that, I don't think will ever change totally.

If I go out shopping dressed as Wonder Woman for example, I might feel totally confident and happy with my decision, but in the same breath, I can't expect everyone not to point and laugh. But, because I'm happy with my choice of outfit, I shouldn't let it bother me. Same goes for the OP, if she's happy with her choice, embrace it, and don't let other people's view bother you. You can change how you let it affect you, but you'll never change other people's opinion OR the way they act.

it's just the look and feel I prefer. I actually don't think I could date a girl with completely natural pubic hair as it would put me off too much and if I was your FWB I'd likely end the arrangement. Strangely enough I'd be more accepting of leg and armpit hair, it's the pubic region that's more of an issue for me.

I assume you therefore do the same?

I agree with you, since no-one likes to have pubes getting in the way of intimacies, but for whatever reason I know my girlfriends wax or trim most/all of it off, but their men don't. If they like their women bare down there, why is this?

It's certainly not while its tolerated to do behave that way. Then, in the past people might have tolerated such behaviour and 'taunting' over someone simply being female, being non white, or having disability.

    Increasingly society grows more aware.

I would take a very different stance be if op was saying her choice was right for ALL women, or people, and was an agenda she was trying to push, or was complaining she could not attract partners yet was intractable in her choice, because choices do have consequences, whether we like it or not.

However, some people have less choice. I read with interest the disabilities comparison, because some skin conditions make depilation more difficult, or inadvisable, and as some have mentioned, some health conditions mess with natural levels of 'hairiness' in women. These people do have less choice.

Personally, when I mentioned getting intimate laser depilation my husband agreed it was my choice but said he'd be disappointed as he enjoys the variety of options available :D. I'd just be pleased never to have an ingrown hair again :o and I don't seem to find growing out as uncomfortable as someone mentioned....std itch?

I've never had an std so I can't compare the itching, but the one time I did shave that region I had a horrific regrowth itch. Maybe I did it wrong - I just used the same type of disposable razor I used on my legs.

No-one is worth going through that much itchyness for, at all, ever.
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.

If I was asked to wax by a partner, I would agree ....on condition that he waxed too - including testicles :D After all, it's all about sharing ;)

Personally i prefer the feeling of being hair free, but that's just me. Just feels nicer for me. But i do also have issues with body hair as i hit puberty early and shaving your legs at 9 after having other girls bully you for leg hair isn't exactly a fun memory. I've had a dislike for body hair (on myself) ever since then, and now i just prefer not having any. I should stress i'm not purposely trying to look prepubescent, i just DISLIKE body hair and prefer not having any.

As for men, i prefer my bf to trim (sometimes he shaves) so there's not as much there, that's more to do with not wanting stray pubes when certain activities are happening though.

If other people want to go au naturel then good for them, and i couldn't care less. :) I only ask they equally don't care if i choose to be hair free.

Almost. I shave everywhere except for the bit above which I trim extremely short, generally to a few millimetres. I have shaved completely in the past but my girlfriend likes it the way it is currently so that's the way I do it.

I wouldn't expect someone to do something I wasn't willing to do myself.
