Yes you did but mentioning September onwards which would fall out of the 30 day window anyway

Playing semantics with the wording doesn't help if TSB do the same, surely it is worth playing safe for the sake of a couple of days until the switch completes, after all you have to before crediting the £500.00.

We will have to agree to disagree, I hope you are right and you get the £100.00 without having to contact them, but as I said, I will set them up the day after the switch completes along with the £500.00 credit.:)

    .
The account already has £2K in it, so we're making interest now. I'll drop another £500 in and out on Friday once I've seen the switch has completed, and the SOs are already set up for 3rd of the month (along with the DDs to pull out the interest on the same day).

    I'm expecting £100 by the 19th July.

But as to your original point it's not really semantics. There can't be inference in T&Cs (and I'm certain the FOS would agree)...they read exactly as they are:

    1. Deposit £500 within 30 days of the switch completing (and)
    2. Register 2 DDs

Best of luck with yours. :)

Derrick, why do you put a full stop at the end of your posts? :o

the only point i have to remember is to credit following the switch, as well as prior--as i have just done.
  • I have applied through the link and everything went fine have email confirming. But in the email it doesn't say anything about the 100 pound incentive just about the interest.
    Is this normal?

I wouldn't expect anything mentioning the £100 in the email. The incentive is specifically through MSE/moneysupermarket, not a promotion from TSB themselves. Just meet the conditions and keep an eye on it.

I'm actually in the middle of deciding whether to switch an existing Santander account to this or to Halifax. Now the Halifax T&C say they will pull back the incentive if you switch away quickly - but I can't see anything in the TSB T&C on that.

So I could switch to TSB, collect the £100 in a months time and them switch that to Halifax and collect another incentive - or do any of you see something I've missed?
I need to think of something new here...

Are you sure? What's the precise wording of the condition you're referring to?

Once the account is opened online, but await activation code, I can immediately deposit funds and earn interest?

Anyone have any idea of any charities that accepts direct debits? I want to set up 2 on an account that I can use to transfer to TSB but I don't want to mess about with my ordinary dds. Thank you.
