Not wishing to prolong the agony, but you will notice that if you go through http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/banking/compare-best-bank-accounts, scroll down the page and click on the Apply button next to TSB it does add a tracking code that must appear somewhere in the TSB affiliate system to acknowledge MSE as the lead. Going to http://www.tsb.co.uk/cashback-money-saving-expert/ direct, although giving the information as a landing page, may not track correctly in the same way (and there doesn't appear to be anything in the Apply Now button on the TSB page to carry forward a referral code - though that of course could still be there somewhere in the back end)?
The landing page does say the £100 will be credited to your account - so (unlike cashback websites like TCB, Quidco or registering for an MSE energy club switch) only TSB are taking your details to be able to pay you.
If I qualified, which I don't currently as I have 2 Plus accounts already due to the original T&Cs, then I would probably spend the extra couple of seconds going through the MSE page (on MSE) in case the tracking information is relevant and so they get credited with the sign up.
I am considering whether downgrading both accounts to Classic from Classic Plus, then opening a new Classic Plus would make sense (in the short term) as I think 1x Plus @ 5% plus £100 will work out more, after tax, than 2x Plus @ 5% for a year. I can cross the multiple Plus accounts issue then in the future ... of course, they could then refuse to let me have a Plus and I would be without the £100 or the 2 x 5%.

Yeah, i'm contemplating as well what to regarding this offer as i've got 2 classic plus accounts.
Option 1: downgrade both to classic accounts and then get 1 classic plus and £100.
Option 2: keep both classic plus's as they are now
It's difficult as going for the switch will be a big short term gain but i'd lose out long term without the second classic plus account. But then again they could always change the T&Cs and get rid of the 5%.
If only they'd allow you to do a switch onto an existing account without having to open a new account...0 -

Anyway - what I've decided to do is have both. Halifax pays the flat rate of interest if you're in credit; so there's nothing to stop me paying in the desired amount and then moving it to a TSB Classic a day later and getting two lots of interest on the same income. Plus two switching bonuses...I need to think of something new here...0 -
I was picking up on this quite vague line:........
..............
.............
Now does that mean that if you stop funding the account by the desired amount they take back the £100; or if you stop one of the 2 direct debits they take back the £100; or if you do something else they don't like...
It isn't a quite vague line at all, it is a totally unambiguous and clear statement: "If you do not meet the conditions of the offer...."
The conditions of the offer are also simple and clear: http://www.halifax.co.uk/bankaccounts/switch-to-halifax/. For instance, there is nothing at all about continuous funding or about 2 DDs in the offer terms, so why worry about it?0 -

Although it seems plausible (when it tracks to MSE, they pay both MS and you), I think it is not the case.
They would still have to pay, because the page is advertising the 100 pounds cashback and coming via a MSE/MS link is not in the T&Cs.
How many of you used the link in the original post of this thread?0 -

Unfortunately I used the link in the OP, and didn't click through from MSE/MS. Will be annoyed (with myself) if they deny cashback on this basis0 -
Does anyone have any idea where you enter your activation code?
It doesn't give this option when I log in.
I opened the account, and had online access immediately.
I now need to move money out, but don't see that option, I assume it becomes visible when you activate?
Edit: I managed it somehow, by activating hubbys account, then copying the same web page address, and pasting in another browser. Seems to have worked anyway, and I can now make payments.I Hate Jobsworths!!!0 -
Ok I need clarification on this 2 DD's being part of switch or not. My understanding from all of the information given is that these can be set up after the switch and £500 being credited. However I have just spoken to a very condescending woman at TSB who asked me "didn't I read the Terms and Conditions" and who is adamant they have to be a part of the switch....I think she is wrong.
Can someone give cast iron clarification on this?0 -

I cannot clarify what is intended but the terms and conditions state that all (unspecified number) active direct debits must be transferred with the account and that at least two direct debits must be registered. In my opinion that leaves open the possibility of transferring an account which has no direct debits to transfer and setting up two direct debits afterwards.

If the account being transferred must have at least two direct debits before transfer then why would they not just say so?0 -

{Edit to add} Just looked again and it's do it within 30 days on the offer page
Starting to look like the general TSB staff haven't been briefed properly on the offer.I need to think of something new here...0
