Ive spoken to TSB a couple of times already and both times they have confirmed that THEY DO NOT PAY the incentive - MoneySupermarket or MSE will pay it. Feel free to call them and confirm this.

Martin Lewis (ML): Hey. Is this the head honcho at TSB?

Head honcho (HH) at TSB: Yeah...it is.

ML: Martin here. Listen, I've got a proposition. How about I send an email to 10 million people next week advertising your Classic Plus account?

HH at TSB: Don't you do that on a weekly basis already?

ML: Yeah, but I've got an idea!

    HH at TSB: I'm listening...

ML: Well, not only will you gain several thousand new current account customers from this offer; as well as additional applications for mortgages, credit cards, savings accounts, ISAs etc.

    HH at TSB: Yeah...

ML: This time, I'd like to give you £100 out of my own pocket for every new customer who switches to you via my weekly email.

HH at TSB: So if we get 10,000 sign ups, you'll give us £1 million?

    ML: Yep!

HH at TSB:  Sounds like a great idea Martin(!) Perhaps you could do an added feature on Watchdog, you know, just to really spread the news out there?

ML: Depends if Anne will allow me :( - I'll try my best.

HH at TSB: If this goes well, we may consider a £150 offer in the future.

    ML: :money:

HH at TSB: Well, bye for now. :D

    ML: Laterz.

Why don't YOU call them and ask them about this?

I don't need to call anybody as I can read and comprehend both, T&Cs and business.
  • I haven't done anything like this before (getting money for changing bank accounts-and using a forum!)but I just phoned tsb about the £100 incentive and the woman on the phone spoke to her supervisor who said mse pays the money! This doesn't make sense to me, so I came to the forum to see if I can find out whats happening but it seems people are just being snotty to each other, where do i go to find out the answer? If it's always like this i don't think I will be changing again!

these ARE the T&Cs. £100 IS from TSB 100%

Some people can seem a little 'comeptitive/conbatant', true, but maybe it's just sheer exasperation when people ask the same Q oer and over and don't read the advice/T&Cs.

You will find some excellant advice on here, (and get some good ideas/interest rates/cash). There are some fine folks who spend time and effort guiding others with their knowledge.

Stick with it (don't believe all the Coy e'ees tell you. Read the terms and conditions - which admittedly are not always 100% true as they can sometimes be 'navigated round', eg number of a/cs, etc)
    Welcome

This thread is becoming a farce (not aimed at you kitty63)

To those of you who think MSE/Moneysupermarket pay the £100 switching bonus, could you please say why you think this?

Exactly what would be the benefit to them?

It is perfectly clear from the T&C that the offer from TSB is available only for applications made through MSE/Moneysupermarket, and not for applications made direct to TSB.

    http://www.tsb.co.uk/legal/special-offer-mse-msm-terms-and-conditions.pdf

It is not surprising that some call centre staff are giving out incorrect information. Sadly TSB staff are not alone in respect :(.

The contact telephone number for anyone who has not received the payment within 30 days of satisfying all the conditions, belongs to TSB, not MSE/Moneysupermarket. I sincerely hope that staff answering those calls will be better informed

I wonder how they know if you've gone via the special MSE/MoneySupermarket link? Each page simply has an "Apply Now" button that links to the same place. No referral information in the link at all.

To apply under the offer, you need to use the "Apply Now" button on the page with url http://www.tsb.co.uk/cashback-money-supermarket/.

Using this URL will feed into the processes that control the payment of the switching incentive and the payment of the referral money Moneysupermarket will receive.

As to who will pay that money: it's simply ridiculous to suggest it will be anyone but TSB.

    I agree!

Do the people suggesting MSE/moneysupermarket pay the incentive not realise that to be able do so would require them to have sort code and account number details?

Do they not realise that TSB would therefore need to supply MSE/moneysupermarket with said details...in 2-3 tranches at month end for all compliant applicants?

Do they not realise that for TSB to supply said account details they would likely (certainly?) contravene their own privacy policy?

This is simply the same type of switching offer that FD have run perviously...apply and switch through the FD website and get £100...apply and switch through MSE et al links and get £125. Either way, the cash comes as a credit directly from FD.

At the end of the day, the incentive payment will come directly from TSB.

    It's not rocket science!
