Hello  Suffolk Lass
So lovely you have popped in, any help I can get on the pension subject is most grateful.
I have indeed popped in to your diary, now and then. I would love to read all, but just not possibleto keep up with them all.
Ah, yes the bags, I call them my "Blackpool bags" no idea how I got that name, unless I first saw them there and bought a few, having bought quite a few since. I have actually just stopped for a break as I am now going through yet another wardrobe of "stuff" a lot New with the tags still on them, never worn and or too small and know the thought of "what was I thinking" gave me a giggle (thought I was the only one thinking that):rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: . I love decluttering, any helpful ideas or tips you have will be great :T
As for the dreaded word "pension" all I can say is I recently found out (don't fall off your seat) I have a nice "fund" well actually twothat I didn't know I had  As for work pension - (Just deleted a long paragraph as went off in a rant there )
You will have to help me here - what is SRP ?(I also think I might have been opted out and that's how I have a pot. Have been investigating what I can "do" with my pot.

Happy to help if you think I can - PM me if I am slow to respond.
SRP is State Retirement Pension - at 66 or 67 for our generation. I was 61 just before the start of this tax (and contribution) year and you cannot count the year in which you reach retirement age - so I have this year, and the years starting 62, 63 and 64 - I think I said three, but I meant four. I would still get the standard retirement pension with 44 paid years but the impacts of State Earnings Related Pensions Service opt-out (lots of big companies and public services did this) means I cannot get a full new state pension.
You should go on the Gov.UK State Pension Forecast link and check yours. - link
Your pot (if a pension) could be defined benefit (based on salary, it may have been index linked since you left that job) or defined contribution (a pot of capital that you have paid into (maybe topped up by the employer) and usually invested by a management company in various shares (equities) or funds)Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)
OS Grocery Challenge in 2025 I am at £1286.68/£3000 or 42.89% of my annual spend so far

Hope everyone had a lovely weekend. I have been decluttering the loft  so now have somewhere I can actually step and have a nice clear tiny area
much, much more to go though.
Bexster - hope you enjoyed your indulgence
Suffolk lass - checked my forecast and it said I would get the full amount, and that I couldn't improve on it any.
Will be very interested in hearing the outcome of the High Court Case going on just now.Always have 00.00 at the end of your mortgage and one day it will all be 0's :dance:MF[STRIKE] March 2030[/STRIKE] Yes that does say 2030  Mortgage Free 21.12.18 _party_Now a Part Timer from 27.10.190 -
Still enjoying messaging in the midnight hour I see AFK.
I had a great indulgent evening thanks. Also a great weekend - productive and fun! Just starting my last mad work week before exams finish next Monday. Then on to marking exams
I'm feeling pretty chilled still for a woman entering her sixth mad work week. Will still be glad when it's Friday afternoon.
Great to hear declutting continues apace. Hope your to do today isn't too tough.
Have a great day

:rotfl: The midnight hour seems to be when I get time to myself  How on earth, I don't know where the time goes, I just keep thinking to the day everything has a home and everything in it's place
Lovely morning here (so far) waiting for the moment - "wait a minute" when it all changes. What do I want "to do" off my list today - not sure yet
Need to get my finger out, cause I'm sure this will be my last week off work, then on to a phased return to use up my holidays (that I didn't take - last year):o, which in effect - will be part time for me
Hope you feel the same after your last manic working week. :rotfl:Always have 00.00 at the end of your mortgage and one day it will all be 0's :dance:MF[STRIKE] March 2030[/STRIKE] Yes that does say 2030  Mortgage Free 21.12.18 _party_Now a Part Timer from 27.10.190 -

Me too. I don't hold out much hope but I admire their action. So many women have lost out. It was impossible to adjust plans with the changes the Coalition Government introduced just 7 years before I was 60Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

Decluttering my mum's cupboard today and came back with 2 bags full
and some more still to come
Also arrived back to a message from the bay, horror of horrors, I listed an item describing it in detail,
they have only gone and removed it :eek::eek: saying it breached a violation . WT* I checked and there is around 2,000 plus items listed like it. I did not think I was doing anything wrong in the way I described it, in actual fact, I described it exactly and this is what happens, funny thing though I had two, in different colours and it was only 1 that was removed. I removed the other, pdqjustin case.
I'm so shocked.I can't get over it, yet. Rant over.

How bizarre!?! Ads removed for being too accurate?!? I confess I fell out of love with the bay some time ago. Like so many things, it isn't what it used to be.
I have likewise previously been helping my parents declutter and returned home with " useful" stuff!
Hope your to do today is a straightforward one ( and doesn't involve being outside by the look of here). Middle of my last manic week. Worst day today though. Then downhill all the way.
Have a great day

My thoughts exactly - need the bay to declutter my [STRIKE]clutter[/STRIKE] treasures, so I can reclutter new[STRIKE] clutter[/STRIKE],I mean treasures :rotfl:
They just make so many changes now, I liked the "old" way better (:o showing my age, there). However, extra pennies for just now.
So, not just me, heading home with new "treasures" :rotfl:then.
Hope your day wasn't as bad as expected, and the worst is over, mine was, too energetic yesterday and was paying for it today, no energy at all today and have an early start tomorrow - so heading to bed early for once.Always have 00.00 at the end of your mortgage and one day it will all be 0's :dance:MF[STRIKE] March 2030[/STRIKE] Yes that does say 2030  Mortgage Free 21.12.18 _party_Now a Part Timer from 27.10.190 -
Hello
Sorry you were exhausted yesterday. In answer to your question, if I tell you I literally finished work one minute before you posted last night, that should tell you how busy my day was! Never mind. Only a few hours this afternoon/early evening. Then a few hours tomorrow and I think I have a free weekend for the first time in two months!! Then exam marking from Monday
Hope you made your early start. I'm having a lovely slow start today
