Was Mortgage Free until 52!!!

Hi AFK
I'm not too worried. The mortgage would be small and we are not going to look to move for a few months whilst we get his place ready to sell.
Sorry no acknowledgement. Pretty typical of employers sadly in my experience. Good luck with the paper request.
Have a great day

My ears perk up at the mention of auction ..any kind of auction....which is why I try to avoid themMade it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!0 -

I love auctions. My new "auction" of choice is FB Marketplace with the race to acquire stuff. It was a set of three stainless steel saucepans at the weekend - £8. I did actually want them for the new (to us) van for camping.Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)
OS Grocery Challenge in 2025 I am at £1286.68/£3000 or 42.89% of my annual spend so far
I also Reverse Meal Plan on that thread and grow much of our own premium price fruit and veg, joining in on the Grow your own thread

By the way Wattie1 - I still use your tip for freezing my dinners :T and glad to hear you are sorting matters out. We all wish we had hind sight and there is always something we would have done different had we that, I know I do, your comments kinda rung a bell with me.Suffolk_lass wrote: »I love auctions. Hi Suffolk lass, I haven't tried that yet, frightened to, as you wouldn't get me off there once I startedI hope you won the set of saucepans, I'm off to our caravan next weekend as I have a nice long weekend
And guess what . . . I "missed" my MFW anniversarythis working 5 days, when I should be on phased return is no good, things have to change, the sooner the better. I'm hopeful.

I still have my fingers crossed for you AFK.
My work is now slowing for the summer. All marking done and halfca dozen hours work next week. Time to start planning how I'm going to develop the business. Well, maybe start that Monday......
Have a great weekend

Thanks Bexster,
Hope you have a lovely long break, with time to get the house ready for sale, and mind not todevelop too much or you'll end up working more than full time :rotfl::eek:
I have found that I need more "me" time, especially since my friend at work retired
on Wednesday - had a very busy week baking, clootie dumpling, truffles, fairy cakes
and I made fruit skewers which turned out well. I also made an extra clootie dumpling for myself
:EasterBun (imagine the dumpling - yummy !!!)
We got a list (huge list) of overtime available and guess what . . . the shift/hours I'm looking for
are on it, bad news is I can't volunteer for them and work a full 5 day week:( So there is a "gap"
in the shifts for now :j
I did have a bit of a "wobbly" once my application was in as to whether I was doing the right thing
or not, as it would be a complete change for me. However nothing set in stone yet, so holding my
"cool" for now.
Off to tackle the hedge that has become out of control and probably double my height :mad:Always have 00.00 at the end of your mortgage and one day it will all be 0's :dance:MF[STRIKE] March 2030[/STRIKE] Yes that does say 2030  Mortgage Free 21.12.18 _party_Now a Part Timer from 27.10.190 -
Sounds like a delicious week, if busy. I hope the hedges behave and allow you to get some "me time" later.
You will never look back once you reduce your hours to do what you want. I know I'm working with a lot of my time, but it's a choice. I will never choose to go back and work for an employer again.
I really hope your hours are resolved soon.
Thanks. I'm very happy with my place. Estate agents have given me an idea of price and it doesn't need anything doing to put on the market. I will just keep using things up/getting rid of crap I don't need so I don't need to move it! Hopefully we will sort his place in the next few months. We'll see how things go. settling down for the Wimbledon final with a brew.....

I got the saucepans, and three gas bottles (and the camper van) - via FB Marketplace. Def not an auction and def lots that is overpriced. I might go for a couple of wooden crates next (think pallet boxes) to upgrade compost corner. Lots free at the moment in my area. I'm looking for a couple of cheap/free bedside cabinets (just a cupboard, no drawers) to convert into outside tap houses that I can insulate for winter as the polystyrene and duct-tape ones DH made three years ago are failing. All the hedge clippings here are going to the dump as our compost area is full and needs an overhaul. Hope your clipping went wellSave £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

SL - I asked my SIL about FB Marketplace, seems she knows all about it, in fact last week when we were at their house for Sunday dinner, my DB had placed an ad the week before on another site, for his faithful van (which was bought, basically for buying/collecting/dumping a load of things of my auction house) but only a couple of enquiries.
My SIL placed an ad on FB Marketplace and within an hour it was sold :j
Looks like you have a few plans for your garden next, great ideas, the water tap I use, seems to be ok with no cover in the winter, and I'm sure we must get colder weather here up north  mind you, not that we need water in the winter or even summer for that matter as we get plenty of natural water, here :rotfl:
Hedge clipping went ok for the most, could only manage the sides and part of the top, as only had a step stool, need to get my ladders for the top as I couldn't reach itso maybe today I will finish it off, just glad it's at the back of the house.
Also have plans for window cleaning, a small ironing, change bed, shower and hair wash before going out for an early sunday dinner with DN, looks like it's going to be a lovely day today.
Enjoy what is left of your weekend.Always have 00.00 at the end of your mortgage and one day it will all be 0's :dance:MF[STRIKE] March 2030[/STRIKE] Yes that does say 2030  Mortgage Free 21.12.18 _party_Now a Part Timer from 27.10.190 -
