A few weeks previous I managed to switch my utilities but have still not heard anything from them:( I was one of the ones who was on the highest rate as never managed to switch down, tut, tut, I know :o
Speaking of energy, went through Cheap energy club, filled in details, and came up with what I would pay monthly, going to a new deal (still with same energy supplier) - that was early Feb, now received 2 emails (Gas + Elec switched) and monthly D/D will be . . . . WT* - 57% MORE !!! with me being charged the much lower rate :( Peeved off to say the least :( now outwith my 14 day cancellation period :( as they took 7-8 weeks to tell me that.

They keep telling you, move, switch, your on the highest rate, etc, etc, etc.

I have tried to check the unit price I signed up for on the cheap energy club but cannot find it anywhere :( I now doubled checked previous/new bill and the only reduction is the standing charge daily - not the price per unit - that is still the same  :(

So reduction daily + now paying by d/d = 57% MORE monthly !!! If anyone can work that one out, please explain to me :)

    Phew !!! That was close. . .

In my efforts, I am now decluttering at a snail's pace, as off/in/off work atm, with no energy to
    do very much, but . . .

in saying that, I was very, very, nearly joining you all again  fortunately or unfortunately - however you look at it, my :hello: (that's me bidding for another property) wasn't successful :( :rotfl:

However won't stop me window shopping :D cause I'm nosy anyway :o

Hope everyone is keeping up with their goal of being MF, and that no major hiccups have occurred.

If you do the buying deed, not only can you enjoy the new purchase but also think about the new spreadsheets, and all the scheming...I would be envious of that!

As another 52 year old about to sign up for her first mortgage (fortunately I do have the buffer that I am not on doing it my own, but hubby has retired) this has given me the spark to put everything I have into my MF journey. I am hoping to pay it off in 10 years, (the mortgage is for 13) but have my eye on 8 years so will be MF at 60. I am going to read through everything and make loads of notes. Thank you for putting your journey to paper for us to read and review. Congratulations.

Thank you, if it helps someone along the way, I would be very happy, And congratulations to you both, too :T It is scary to make that 1st step, all I would say is hopefully you don't take a mortgage to your max, I feel that's what made it so easy  :rotfl: for me. I had room for all real life threw at me, should I have needed it, and when I didn't, it went on o/p's.

Good Luck and will follow your journey along the way.

Sometimes you just have to listen to your intuition. Came across the above, don't even remember posting it, but I was right :(

Result was/is another 3 weeks off because of it :(
