Happy New Year Everyone. Hope everyone had a lovely time and all back to normal now.

Went back to work Thursday, so nice short week. Oh, checked my a/l, Yes I was officially off Hogmanay :j :D so got an apology.:rotfl:

Needed milk, so went to L1dls after work, came out £45 lighter, Got lots of lovely bargains and have great plans to stock up on my batch cooking again, now spare freezer had a clear out and defrosted.

Thought I would start small with my wants/needs list, so new iron bought ;) this was a "needed" item as just happened to drop mine and it broke, oops :o (spare one I had was just not up to the job):( thank goodness it wasn't on or would have been adding a carpet to my "needs" list.

So today, will either be a day batch cooking, or into room of doom for a clear out/declutter, now which one will it be  so exciting decisions to make :(

    Have a good weekend, all.

I am well pleased to report 5 days at work were all NSD's :D. Very pleased with that and a great start to the year.

Also meant to be a big shake up at work, which now see's me on my favourite job :heartpuls just hoping it will not make me sick again :( but that was under extreme circumstances, once back at work, they never put me back on that job for nearly 2 years :( I suppose they were looking after my health.

Still managing to post a few bits and bobs on the bay and very pleased they are selling.

Have started the declutter but will take a while, so doing a few hours when I can.
Must remember not to just move items into another room :rotfl: and actually decide.
Must keep telling myself, 3 boxes, CS, Bay or Bin.
    Must try harder.

Oh and once on netflix will be straight to Marie Kondo's series.

I would highly recommend the Marie kondo series. I've been doing MK for about 2 years in total ( I really can't do the all in one go thing). It's been very successful. The series is overall very good.

Glad to see your NSDs going well. Are we going to compare the year/half year again? I'm up for it if you are

    Bexster :)
  • Hi Bexster, I could try that again as I seem to be a bit more organised this time round :rotfl:for now.

Would it be cheating if I just noted NSD's at work :o as in a few months time, something will be done on the house and will have to start buying for that.

Priced for new radiators in each room, and seems very reasonable, well at least got a figure to start with.

  • Morning (well just) all,

Beautiful morning here, and slightly warmer, sun beating in window and have no heating on :D in fact house has been very toastie this last week, that I have only had heating on twice, slightly chiller at the back of the house though.

Keep hearing the snow is bad, but so far only seen it on the hills. Not too sure if it snowed last night or not, as all week it's been white with frost, so can't tell if the white on the roofs is frost or snow as it's only on parts.

Not much happening here, still managing my nsd's at work and at home, as only 1 spend day last week when I bought new micro/grill that was much needed.

Getting to grips with MK clearing out, so have started, lots to go through though :( and not much time to do it.

I am now looking for a steamer (not of the food kind that my friend suggested) :rotfl:but one that will clean upholstery and maybe carpets, any suggestions or recommendations very welcome as I'm not quite sure what type I need to look out for that will do both and of a reasonable price. (Still not lost my economy ways :)).

    Enjoy your weekend.

  • Morning,

Yet again, another beautiful morning, with sun beating in the window at the front of the house :)

Finally managed to ask for time off, so next two Mondays are in with my weekends off :D or so I thought :( rota says - no  Will check when I get back Tuesday and it will be Tuesday - asked if I really want/need Monday off  Yes I do Need and Want - was my reply  as I was leaving on Friday.

I have exactly 50% of my a/l left with 6 weeks left to use it all, and they still ask if I want Monday

Last week a bit spendy - retirement lunch & gift & night out. However nothing spent since then as keeping busy clearing out kitchen - again. Finally managed to open new microwave box and set it up which lead on to cupboards being cleared out.

A few more items to list on the bay, so will keep me busy for a while, then maybe some shopping tomorrow for a new mascara, wow, last of the big spenders :rotfl:

Have a lovely Sunday whatever you are planning.

    Hi AFK

Whoo hoo for Monday off!

Typical work " do you really need the day off?" !!!!!!?! No, actually I'd really like my whole life off work but, you know... ( eyeroll)

Glad you are getting kitchen sorted out. After a dull start, weather has perked up nicely for a lovely sunset.

Enjoy mascara shopping tomorrow, you spendthrift you!

    Bexster :)
  • Hi Bexster,

Hope you are feeling better now.

    I couldn't have said it any better !!!!!! - a day off ????

I have had my stress symptom's for around 2 weeks now, so it was time to ask for "time out" know I need more than a day, but I'll go with that for now and see how I feel the rest of the week. So darn tired.

Better news is I have had my 1st pay since being MF and it feels fine, keep expecting the balance to drop but it's not moving :D :rotfl: :j I've really not done anything, any different yet, do need a plan and very soon, but for now, too tired :(

Just been to M's and imagine my luck was in as I managed to pick up some of the YS that always elude me. Spent £16 all in, wish I knew someone who liked Scottish Smoked Salmon as that was reduced from £4.50 to 23p a packet. Oh and used a £15 voucher I had :j from my survey days. And got a bargain with my milk teeth sweeties 2 packets for £1 :) If only all my shopping was like this, greedy that I am :) So cost was a grand total of £1 :j for everything :D

Yes, kitchen is getting sorted - again, how on earth do I manage to accumulate so much ?

Hope your plans are going well? :)

  • Congratulations on being MF!!

It must be so nice to have the extra disposable income, I wouldn’t know what to do with it. The mortgage is by far the biggest monthly outgoing!

I reckon by the time we are MF we will have to fund children through university as I think student loans will have self imploded by then!

You should definitely treat yourself to something nice this year with your “mortgage payments and overpayments - a nice holiday or something?
