Yeah, my rent was very cheap back then, would you believe £60.00 for the whole month:shocked:. Wish my mortgage was that now:p.
Anyway, today I cleared out my fridge today and was horrified at the amount of food i threw out. I obviously still spend too much, so will be more aware of what is being bought next time round.
Today i had my phone line and internet connected up courtesy of mse (free code) - so a whole year for £25.00:j, probably paying around that for a month just now. Which reminds me, I need to cancel my other provider now.
Bought all my "special" xmas cards - nephew, mum, special friends, neighbours and special couple - embarrassed to say how much i spent, other than to say you don't get much else for a £1(total) these days and they are really nice glittery ones. Read somewhere that you should put all your plugs off when not in use, so put my lamp off at the plug yesterday, and when i switched on last night the bulb blew - so much for saving the pennies.
Have another few items to go on the bay and will really need to get round to listing the larger items on a local site.
You have a good trick there Lil, trying to get a discount for a package. I was buying this and that off the bay (loft ladder, fridge freezer, carpet underlay etc, etc) and my brother lost the rag, asking me - is this going to be a bay house - i said there are shops on the site as well, you know, i just love shopping, either out and about (of which i cant do very much atm), or internet browsing.
Off to check the balances - again, see what i can magic up - i have given myself my 10% o/p total in 4 pays, due to new deal been taken out on 1.9.15 ha - no chance, but will be interesting to see how far i can get, considering using my EF for the shortfall at the end of the year, then I have the following year to o/p another 10% and make up my EF again, nice to know there's a plan B for back up.
Thats all for now, away to rob peter to pay paul.:cool:Always have 00.00 at the end of your mortgage and one day it will all be 0's :dance:MF[STRIKE] March 2030[/STRIKE] Yes that does say 2030  Mortgage Free 21.12.18 _party_Now a Part Timer from 27.10.190 -

You are doing very very well & musn't beat yourself up. I think a 5 year target sounds fantastic, that is my timeframe too, even if we don't quite manage it we've all given it a ruddy good shot right?!
Have a lovely Sunday xx
Hi atb :hello:
Thanks for the encouraging words, sometimes its easy to forget just how far along the road we've came while looking for the end of the tunnel.
Have you a short term goal or just going for the light?
I have 2 short term goals, 1st is to o/p 250.00 a month, 2nd is to pay my 10% entitlement before the end of the year - tall order but already have a plan b if i fall short, (use some of my ef), that should keep me busy for the moment.
Good luck with your target, and yes, we will have given it a ruddy good shot.Always have 00.00 at the end of your mortgage and one day it will all be 0's :dance:MF[STRIKE] March 2030[/STRIKE] Yes that does say 2030  Mortgage Free 21.12.18 _party_Now a Part Timer from 27.10.190 -
I think its great way to use the EF to cover the 10% at the end of the year before it runs out
this way you get to keep it in the short term in case something pops up and if not use it for a OP this is how i will go about it i think
Add to the EF then overpay before the 10% runs out that year
I will however try to keep money going in monthly as this will help reduce interest on the normal paymentsMortgage--- [STRIKE]£67700 March 15[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£65221 April 15[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£64983 July 15[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£64780 sept 15[/STRIKE] Remortgage [STRIKE]£67295 oct 15[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£66599 Nov 15[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£65878.73 Dec 15[/STRIKE][STRIKE] £64834 1st Jan 16[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]Feb 16 £64,511.89[/STRIKE][STRIKE] March 16 £64,056.40[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]April 16 £62550[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]May 16 £62,396.20[/STRIKE] Feb 17 £60.800

Yeap, similar thing here, o/p my goal of 250.00/month then some extra as and when i have it, if i fall short of the 10% total at the end of the year by, say 1,000 then i'll take it out of e/f because once this years gone .... its gone. (A bit like if you don't use all your allowance for an isa, you've lost your chance for that year).
Well, that must be a record, connected up to my sky offer(phone and internet) this morning about 11.30am, got a text telling me it went "Live" at around 1.30pm and received an e-mail at 4.00pm telling me about my first bill and the price hike from 1st december. Just great !!!Always have 00.00 at the end of your mortgage and one day it will all be 0's :dance:MF[STRIKE] March 2030[/STRIKE] Yes that does say 2030  Mortgage Free 21.12.18 _party_Now a Part Timer from 27.10.190 -
On updating my signature, have surprised myself, when reading it, i really thought - is that really mine, if it was someone else's i would think - they've done really well. Was beating myself up a little, so now is the time to give myself a pat on the back.
Will teach me in future to keep running totals and update signatures - good for morale.Always have 00.00 at the end of your mortgage and one day it will all be 0's :dance:MF[STRIKE] March 2030[/STRIKE] Yes that does say 2030  Mortgage Free 21.12.18 _party_Now a Part Timer from 27.10.190 -

Running out of ideas of how to gain extra pennies:(, so after scouring the site for help/hints/tips, have found 1 other idea/tip.
That's the letter written and will be posted tomorrow am to the tax man - claim for washing/repairing(?) buying my own uniform:D. Probably a few months before i hear the outcome, but nothing ventured, nothing gained.Always have 00.00 at the end of your mortgage and one day it will all be 0's :dance:MF[STRIKE] March 2030[/STRIKE] Yes that does say 2030  Mortgage Free 21.12.18 _party_Now a Part Timer from 27.10.190 -
Just read from start to finish - you're making great progress :T
You're around the same age as me - can I be nosey and ask what your retirement plans are? I assume you'll have a good pension you can take at 60? Have you thought again about selling your house and buying something smaller to free up some equity so you can retire earlier?A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0
