Anyone else have trouble using Apple Pay in Boots? I use it successfully everywhere else but it always declines in Boots and I have to actually touch the card to the reader.
I used to have consistent problems using Apple Pay with Amex in Boots, but it has worked successfully at least once recently.

Excellent summary of shops that accept Apple Pay: http://contactless.life/retailers/

Apologies if this has been posted before

It's useful but a bit out of date. Eg. TK Maxx and Asda (selected stores) now offer contactless.

    Agree.

Asda was my 3rd local retailer to accept my iphone-past few weeks or months?

Spar and Jet garage (BP) were 1st2

And my work small pre packed sandwich counter accepts contactless no probs for 2 to 3 quid sandwiches (I'm not in the +5 Panninis league myself though purchased one anyway)

The currency of the list relies on people updating it. http://contactless.life/contact/

    It's a Barclays Visa Debit I'm using.
The assistant yesterday was stunned when she told me it had declined then I used the exact same card to pay with by touching it to the reader and it went through fine!

I've not used Apple Pay in Boots for some time but I found their self service checkouts to be temperamental from time to time-American Express being one of them and the other (my now closed) Santander 123 MasterCard.

At least they support transactions for £30 and over with Apple Pay-wish more retailers would follow suit.

It's very silly when retailers impose a £30 transaction limit when there's two-factor authentication (e.g. using a PIN or fingerprint). The £30 limit is supposed to be only for single-factor authentication, i.e. a contactless card with no additional authentication. The only place where I've successfully spent over £30 on Apple Pay was the Apple Store. Apple Pay with Amex didn't work for me recently at Boots over £30.

I keep trying to use it on the tube, some readers work, others don't.

Other times the iPhone says it has completed the transaction but the gate does not open.

It only takes just a second more with Apple Pay, but at rush hour it's no good. Far quicker to use a contactless card. Never fails either.

It's mostly been ok, but many people behind the till just still stand there is a daze waiting me to pull out a card or cash. That just annoys me as well.

It would be good if you could set an option to allow payment without authentication for under £10.

I've had this same problem whereby the gates display "error 97" since the contactless pilot first started in summer 2014 before it went live in September 2014. It definitely affects physical cards in the same way, although it seems to affect Apple Pay more. I've only once had the problem with my Apple Watch though, which seems much more reliable on TfL than multiple iPhones with multiple card issuers.

I used Apply Pay a few times on TfL (when they were refunding Apple Pay use on several Mondays around last January) and found it to be a real pain. Very rarely did it work first time and on one occasion it took well over a dozen attempts to get the barriers to open at Waterloo East. The physical card isn't perfect but it works first time almost every time nowadays.
