I phoned up today and was asked whether I'd received this offer via mailshot. When I said no, seen it on a website, I was told that I wouldn't be able to open the account.
I'm far too honest!!
I phoned up and said id seen it on the internet. They said fine and have opened it up no probs!0 -

I chased my £75 today as I was assured I'd get it when I deposited the money (28 August). They are going to put a request through to the 'bonus team' to speed things up. (ie they've forgotten)

No, none of us did. We all completed our applications online.0 -
No, I just used the link for the £20 offer posted earlier in this thread. I think the box for entering a code is for their refer-a-friend promotion rather than this.
Be sure to cut and paste the web address into your browser rather than clicking through directly though - otherwise they will know that people are clicking through from this site - we don't want them refusing to pay the bonus because of that!0 -

Well if that's the case surely everyone who's opened an account since the 19th July (the date in the small print at the bottom of the £20 offer) can just print out the £20 offer page from their website and then ring up ING after the 5th Oct when they don't get their £20 and tell ING that they opened their account on the understanding they'd get this bonus.
Or am I missing something???0 -

They could try that I suppose, but ING would know which signup page that the customer used - if this wasn't one of the offer sign-up pages then I assume that argument wouldn't get very far.0 -

But as far as i can see there's no difference in the web address the site directs you to to if you click through from the £20 promotion page or if you log onto ingdirect.com and click on open a savings account. If you try it both ways and look at the web address line on your browser I think you'll find they're exactly the same. ie....

I received a new offer from ING Direct. For new customers, put £5000 into their savings account and receive a free TomTom sat nav. Thinking of giving it a go but I certainly won't keep the cash in there after I get the sat nav (delivered by 17/11/07. Personally addressed again I'm afraid so it won't apply to everyone.0
