    An update...

I had one of the 'to the occupier' £1,000/£50 offer applications delivered in the post today, so thought I'd check up with ING

The CSA (name, date, and time of call noted ;)) was adamant that I would be given the £50 incentive because whether I got it or not simply depended on how he 'closed' the telephone application down once we'd completed it. He informed me he simply had to tick a box saying "pay £50 incentive".
So just to clarify, you are eligible to apply in this case because:

    - you had closed your account and was therefore 'a new' customer once again
    - you could quote a reference code because you had received their leaflet?

The stuff about 'ex customers' not being eligible is now something ING are prepared to disregard I assume?

(What's the code or reference used if you don't mind dropping a hint?)

    [Good luck]

Why are we still giving ING publicity, the way they have treated their customers its a wonder we even consider them for anything regarding savings.

Correct, other than there was no (unique) code on the flyer as such. The only instruction was to quote '£50 offer' (or something like that - the form is at home) when you called them on the freephone number given.

As I said earlier, when the telephone CSA 'closed down' the application screen he told me he simply had to tick one of several boxes, depending on which offer you had applied for, eg 'offer75', 'offer50', etc.

    Exploitation works both ways Gary!
  • I think I'll give this a go tonight when I get home. If anybody knows of any further updates on the availability of the promotion to those who did not receive the mailshot could they let me know.

    Thanks

I might give this a go. How easy is it to get the money back after the £75 is deposited if I close the a/c down?

are the offer codes just offer50, offer75 etc as on the website if i phone them? Or is there something different on the actual mailshot? If so where is it, how many characters etc?

My unaddressed £50 flyer simply stated...
...or call us on 0800 183 8831 quoting "£50 cash gift" to our customer representative."
Presumably you just substitute £75 for the other offer?
