Yeah because I formatted the laptop which came with Windows 7.
But no CD came with the laptop.
And friend of mine gave me Win 7 CD with RemoveWAT program. (which according to him will activate the windows).
I thought if I could go back to Windows 7 and then I could use the upgrade feature.

As it's a laptop I doubt this didn't come with some version of Windows pre-installed. If it was originally Vista and a pirate version of 7 installed you may have problems.
Where to download the genuine one and i don't have any key.

Oh for that I would have to check in half an hour.
I will be on my lunch break and will go home and check.
But i cannot recall any sticker underneath. Will double check.
Also this laptop was in the possession of kids. So you can imagine wear/tear.
I will get back to you shortly.

I meant when you got home and were on the DELL machine.
There is no issue with your DELL, as they have supplied a Genuine Windows 7 licence for that machine. I just need to check as to whether it has been applied. If not, we can apply it.
Have sent you a PM. Carry out the instructions on the DELL.0
