Windows 10

Downloaded it last night, burned it to DVD, and installed it on an old Dell XPS M1530 that was running Windows 7. (originally came with Vista)
Took a couple of hours all in all and most importantly for me Quicken 2002 deluxe works fine.
I had to download the Nvidia drivers for the graphics card from the Nvidia website (geforce 8600)and was surprised to see that Nvidia have got Win 10 drivers for it even though it's 7 or 8 years old.
All I need to do now is pluck up the courage to install it on the XPS laptop I now use:D0 -
Sorry if this has already been posted but have an issue since upgrading, Windows 10 is working fine and I quite like it but when I shut down its not anymore, Windows 10 shuts down and goes to a black screen but the power stays on

win 10 does shut down very quickly , when set up correctly , however even after the display goes dim , the machine "collects" your data for the next quick start,

You might try disabling Fast Startup.

I am sorry but i cannot find it.
Its so hard to read through all from small screen
Please help me how can i activate it0 -
I downloaded the .iso file and made a DVD. Then formatted my Windows 7 and installed Windows 10.
Installed okay, working okay. But it is asking for Product Key. It says windows is not activated.
Please help.
Why didn't you do an in place upgrade like all the help sites have told you to, you then wait a while for your details to be updated in the Win 10 database and THEN do a fresh install.0 -

I did the upgrade from Windows 7 last night. It said "not activated" last night but magically was activated when I checked this morning. I guess the servers were swamped or something yesterday.
I should have held off though, as there's no Oculus support yet so my DK2 is useless, though of course it's coming 'soon'
Other niggles are the Mail client not allowing you to specify a POP3 login email that's different to the account email, the usual 'wakes itself up from sleep due to USB3' (I had that when installing Win7 too and it was a pig to solve), and the default photo viewer/editor refusing to save to the photos directory as it says I'm not an administrator when I'm logged in as one.0 -

No problem but I thought the solution might have helped you. If you haven't already sorted it out more information here...
