Sorry we crossed over there when I edited that.........I still think there will be no charge though.Well it is your statement. You said there will be no charge.
The reality is M$ are saying for a period they have yet to define.
So there will be no charge in an undefined period. Could be a year, could be five. We are yet to find out.Drinking Rum before 10am makes you

I understand what you were trying to say now. But, I don't agree with you. I read it as they updates won't work on devices that the manufacturer no longer supports. Not that they will charge you for updates from then on. Updates will carry new features that may not work on unsupported hardware.
They may give even more details on launch day and I'm willing to be shot down. Either way, it won't stop me installing W10.
Me neither. However its better not ot make explicit statements to folks who may blindly drop an OS in expecting to get 5+ years from it.0 -
On a PC they possibly will.....The statement is set to cover all devices though. PC's, Phones, Tablets, IOT, Surface Hub, X-Box 1 and HoloLens. All of which have a different supported life span.Me neither. 10166 fixed over 300 issues apparently. I've only had the calendar and email failing to sync with Gmail so far. All else is working nicely, including Hey Cortana which went AWOL in the last build. 10162 seemed sluggish on my machine, but 10166 is very smooth.Jivesinger wrote: »Admittedly I'm using 10162 rather than the very latest 10166, (but they won't be that different), and I've reported two separate failures just in my use of that build.
Admitted I'm not exactly testing it to destruction, so can only give what I have.;)Drinking Rum before 10am makes you

It's rumoured that build 10240 is the candidate for the release build of WIndows 100

That is a lot of builds between 10166 and 102400 -
The assumption has been made because 10240 is divisible by 16 thus using the same method as previous OS final build numbering........Apparently. So could well be the RTM.Drinking Rum before 10am makes you

So the number 10240 is pre-ordained as the number which is going to be given to the RTM?The assumption has been made because 10240 is divisible by 16 thus using the same method as previous OS final build numbering........Apparently. So could well be the RTM.
In that case I'm not sure knowing the build number tells us very much? (Not that it would otherwise of course.)0
