Have 10166 on my pretty old HP 8440p laptop and it's great. Only one device isn't recognised yet, the SD-card slot. Hopefully a device driver will appear soon.

There's no guarantee that drivers will appear for old hardware -I had to manually find my old laptop's SD card driver, using an older version for Vista or some such.

Build 10166 now out and downloaded.....Just fixes some bugs and irons out a few things. No new features AFAIK.

Adds in the Microsoft WiFi app in some locations (currently Seattle but will expand to US before going wider) http://www.theregister.co.uk/2015/07/10/windows_10_paid_microsoft_wifi_service/
Not sure how much use it is, most UK folk will have BT FON / The Cloud / VM Wifi access and accounts already in place.

It also change Edge but not to any extent you'd notice that much, as you say mainly bug fixes...

HP are not known for writng / supplying old drivers for OS upgrades. I've had a few old printers and scanners when the answer is "replace the product" rather than HP supply drivers. I'd start looking at the VEN and PCI tags and trying to work out who's the vendor to go to them,

So far the only bug I've experienced in 10166 is that the Calendar and mail app are not syncing with Google any longer.

    Windows 10 Offer Details

Sounds too good to be true ? at least we can wait up to 12 Month's B4 committing .

A full version of Windows 10, not a trial. 3 GB download required; standard data rates apply. To take advantage of this free offer, you must upgrade to Windows 10 within one year of availability. Once you upgrade, you have Windows 10 for free on that device.

Windows 10 Upgrade Offer is valid for qualified Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 devices, including devices you already own. Some hardware/software requirements apply and feature availability may vary by device and market. The availability of Windows 10 upgrade for Windows Phone 8.1 devices may vary by OEM, mobile operator, or carrier. Features vary by device. Devices must be connected to the internet and have Windows Update enabled. Windows 7 SP1 and Windows 8.1 Update required. Some editions are excluded: Windows 7 Enterprise, Windows 8/8.1 Enterprise, and Windows RT/RT 8.1. Active Software Assurance customers in volume licensing have the benefit to upgrade to Windows 10 enterprise offerings outside of this offer. To check for compatibility and other important installation information, visit your device manufacturer’s website and https://www.windows.com/windows10specs. Windows 10 is automatically updated. Additional requirements may apply over time for updates. See https://www.windows.com/windows10upgrade for details.

I have just upgraded to Windows 7 from Vista Home premium total cost £33.90p . have the link set for changing FREE to 10.

Why would it be 'Too good to be true'? It's the standard windows 10 update available to all.
Is that rock a really long way from this planet?;)
