Interesting reading - and yet further proof that you can't trust big American corporations like Microsoft.
Also could explain why Win 10 has been free for so many people - they're probably making far more out of the personal data than they're losing by not charging.0 -

This update will no doubt be forced on us - even though I do not use the tiles (I use Classic Shell)
Classic Shell will no doubt fail (if the update changes anything) - which will mean another unusable PC until Classic Shell provide an update
I now regret updating my laptop from Win 8.1
Thank God - I left my desktop on Win 7 Professional....0 -

"In this new release, users will be able to activate Windows 10 using a genuine Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 product key without the need to go through the tedious process of upgrading first. And if the activation fails, users should be able to go directly to Settings > Update & security > Activation and "easily" change the product key."0 -

getting a bit fed up of this..............Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple0 -
If you don't want to wait for the upgrade to roll-out, you can d/l and create a bootable USB or ISO
