I did check out the free version but it seems to be for windows 8.
    I don`t think it`s compatible with win 10.

Have you got a link for the version that is free and runs on win 10.
I`ve googled but can`t find one.
The free version is not officially compatible with W10, however, reports on their forums seem to confirm that it does work. That said, they are working on a new free version to be released fairly soon, apparently.
The free one worked on my W10 (for the short time I had it), bu,t I now use the paid for version, so am willing to be shot down over this...:)

Still genuinely perplexed why peeps load Windows 10 with Russian-sourced, adware supported 'anti-virus' when there's perfectly decent AV, malware removal and web-site screening functionality from Microsoft built-in.

I suppose if you visit extreme pr0n and dodgy sites streaming F1 and Premier League matches, fair enough.

Probably because the Microsoft built-in AV isn't reckoned to be as effective. It ought to be, given Microsoft's capabilities and profits, but by all accounts it just isn't.

Back to previous OS (then try again):-

    1. Hold down the SHIFT key while clicking on RESTART from the power option on the bottom right corner of screen.

    2. Menus should pop up for System Restore options .... go to ADVANCED options.

    3. Go to SEE MORE RECOVERY OPTIONS until you see this and ONLY THIS: Restore Previous Build .... click on that.

    4. Make sure your device is plugged in and mine took over 3 hours...kept saying "RESTARTING" with the circle spinning dots.
Thanks Grumpycrab - will try this now

When you installed did you link up to a Microsoft account (eg your hotmail account)?
If you did, it's THAT password you should be using. Or did you set up a PIN or something that you should be using instead?
grumpycrab's suggestion is a bit drastic.

Help please - I tried to upgrade from Windows 7 home premium to Win 10. on my samsung RV511 laptop.
First try a message appeared saying it would disable the samsung solution progam (which had been a godsend once in the past!) but I said ok. Ran through then on second boot the logo appears on black background and just hangs.

Hours passed and then I turned off and back on and receive the message that windows 10 could not be installed and the computer is back to previous OS. (minus the samsung solution prog :()
    Error: 0xC1900101-0x20017 Safe_OS
I have tried dozens more times to install the windows 10 but it just hangs on the second boot.

I read on one site that there is a problem with samsung and some other puters drivers? Someone said you have to remove the wireless unit to get 10 to download  Im not a techi.

Has anyone any ideas of how to get round this problem please?

Should mention Ive tried the media thing way too and no joy.
