Still can't get Edge to load. I don't want to use IE or Chrome as I like Edge. Does Edge have the search engine built in? I checked my browser search engines in settings and it only shows the IE ones, ie Norton as default, Google as 2nd. I do have Edge set as my default browser. I used IE up until a week ago with 8.1 but the IE I'm having to use now is ten times slower with windows 10 so really would like to get Edge back.
Edge has no menu - Firefox is so much better !!0 -
Have given up with Edge. Anyone help with the label printing as I need to get my Ebay parcel off today? Have run administrator scan and fixed corrupt files but still get class not registered when I open or save the label. Tried clearing temporary/history etc and got message temp files disk space was too large and for some bizarre reason it was set to use 21582! so altered to recommended settings, cleared everything but still get class not registered on Myhermes site. full message is Appdata\local\Microsoft\windows\\netcache\IE\jlwogqlc\Myhermeslabel.pdf class not registered0

I suspect it's an adobe PDF viewer issue, uninstall adobe PDF viewer and try using this PDF viewer:

Alternatively use firefoxScience isn't exact, it's only confidence within limits.0 -
Just as a follow-up to this, for what it's worth, I've found that Avast will still scan the system in a reasonable time if I close all programs before running the scan. Used not to be necessary to do that (would run happily in the background) but if that's what's needed, so be it.
My experience of win 10, which I`ve finally got running how I want is:
Couldn`t get on with Chrome, if you had a few windows open it would just freeze, so switched to Firefox.
Persevered with win defender but it kept wanting to scan about five times a day, so now running AVG.
From what I`ve read people just have to tweak to their own needs.
What works for some may not work for others.
I would imagine MSN will keep updating as problems pointed out to them and are resolved.0 -
Gave up and uninstalled 10. What a performance that was, computer got stuck and wouldn't restart and no amount of fixes would work. Tried rolling back a week and that wouldn't work either due to file access. In the end turned the whole thing off and hoped it would work when I switched it back on. Took a few minutes for everything to load but now I'm back on familiar 8.1!0

Well that didn't last long! Stuck at start up yet again with no automatic fixes working, safe mode won't even open. tried all the different advanced fixes except drastic remove everything. Eventually page loaded after turning off 'early launch of malware'. I'm assuming Norton is involved in all this mess as it won't even open now. Does anyone know if I turn off Norton altogether and roll back a week will this all get fixed as that will take me back to pre windows 10 installation?0

I read good things about Panda Free - considering switching.
It has behaved reasonally well during the changeover on my machines.
The AMD and i5 were changed-over and updated with no problems at all and no affect on functionality but the dual-core did suffer a glitch. It karked at a stage in the update process that left no functionality but just enough of the older version on the machine to completely scupper the update to the newest.
Downloading the "generic uninstaller" from the Panda website and letting it do its thing (slowly) was the answer - the newest version then installed without a hitch.
I wish I could say the same for AMD drivers though - W10 has nuked the HDMI on that machine and rolling back to the oldest driver on the disc seems to be the only option to resolve it - except that at the next update, it reinstalles the useless current driver - which eventually keels-over and the machine reverts to the basic Microsoft driver, with no HDMI. For now, I've swapped the AMD and the i5 over for workng with the HDMI monitor.0 -

No - System Restore cannot cope with OS upgrades - at bestl, it will take you back to the point of OS upgrade to Win 100 -
