May be of interest to peeps who are buying a new Windows 8.1/Windows 10 PC/laptop to replace knackered kit
Move your files, folders, and more, for free. Microsoft has partnered with Laplink to provide you with data transfer tools that transfer selected files, folders, and more from an old Windows PC to a new Windows 8.1 or Windows 10 PC.

Worked on my Win 10...
I would report that fact to the BBC and ABC in America , you have successfully broken into windoze 10
whilst you are there can you see if you can remove cortano?
perhaps you missed the "this app cannot be removed line?
have you checked to see if its still in all settings/system and display/ apps and features?0 -

That's on 32-bit Win 10 Pro.
Disabled Cortana rather than try to uninstall it, as I do believe it can't be uninstalled.
Did have to switch the location to USA to disable it if I remember right.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the In My Home MoneySaving, Energy and Techie Stuff boards. A month after W10 upgrade was launched and still not got any sign of the notification turning up, despite knowing that I am definitely eligible for the upgrade?0
-
Have you tried looking for it? (There's plenty of advice online on how to force the update).
Maybe you've hidden the GWX updater? Check in Windows Updates under the Restore Hidden Updates section.0 -
Yes I have tried looking for and forcing the upgrade even downloaded it and done it but due to an issue I had had to roll back to W8.1 so after checking with Microsoft Support to see if I was actually eligible for upgrade they said to wait until the upgrade happened automatically which I am doing but a month later and still nothing seems I may have to contact them again which is a pain in the backside to say the least.0
