Beams and feels at home with all the rockfans. More of a metal fan myself, but it's all good.

Highly amused that polyamory has people singing the jackanory theme, and very grateful to have somewhere I don't need to hide that aspect of myself. I don't discuss romantic relationships with my family, and many of my friends find it weird. The bf and his wife are away for a few days so I'm cat sitting. Extra cat cuddles today!

Exactly that! If it suits all concerned, then why not?

After all, there are plenty of monoamoric (is that the adjectival form) relationships that are unhappy, so who's to knock a situation that makes three people happy?

The only thing that would worry me about someone in such as a relationship is the security aspect, financial, wills, mortgage, etc. and what's in whose name, etc.
But those aren't problems that are insurmountable, if steps are taken to address them.

Mostly, the practicalities involve a lot of talking very openly. I've only been dating this guy for about 6 months, so there are no financial links etc. In the long term, I don't know what will happen. But some poly groupings are stable long term - wills can be used to give any belongings to anyone afterall.

The daily issues are more that making sure everyone is getting their needs of time and one to one time met. In addition to working, seeing friends or whatever else is in people's lives. Is very helpful that I'm ill actually, I can work around their timings more easily that way. And ofc, myself and his wife (who is a dear and precious friend) are free to date other people too. Not that I'm well enough to do so atm!

Eta: usually describe relationships as poly or mono (open can be a type of either really, and everyone has their own definitions)

It isn't weird at all, dragonette! I have a friend who has been in the same sort of relationship for years and they are all very happy, to me it's as ordinary as any other relationship. I would never judge anyone providing everyone is happy!

Hello from the seaside! I have already popped to the beach last night and met a very friendly doggie! WaSp's friend is wonderful and so kind, and the flat we are staying in is amazing! I feel like I am in a 5 star hotel! Off to see some fishies today!

So glad you're having a good time WaS! :D

I forgot to say yesterday that I was brave and went to the dentist! :D It was actually OK, just a little bit of a clean needed but nothing scary or painful! Phew! I registered DS whilst I was there (he only has 8 teeth so far!) and he'll be invited to come with me in 6 months, so not only will I have my own fear to deal with, but his too! :o

That sounds wonderful WaS. Hope you have a wonderful time with much beach action and many more doggy friends. They're the best type of friend as they never tell secrets.

Dragonette - I don't think your situation is weird. I've often felt I could do with a few more husbands - a handy one, a randy one, and a couple more for when the others are playing computer games. But as DH wouldn't like it and I don't want him having any more partners, we're mono.

Having a grouchy day. It's TOTM so grumpy. At least work has been a bit busy today otherwise I think I'd have burst into tears.

I think I posted on the other thread about I had a dream a couple of weeks ago where my DH asked to be in an open relationship and his new GF was a super hot 21 year-old and I had to act cool about it; I woke up feeling awful so it's fair to say that Poly is not for me! Nor is it for my DH, he can barely deal with the stress of 1 wife, never mind any more troublesome women! :rotfl:

Big hugs for feeling grouchy Code, at least it's Friday! You'll be home soon having cuddles with your doggy. :)
