I did the coach to 5k. I remember right at the start by being amazed at just how long a minutes running went on for.:rotfl: Stick with the programme, you'll get there.
Having reached 5k I've now stopped again after getting back into full time work - can't seem to make the time. I'm blaming Gitdog rather than myself, obviously.
I am flapping. I've booked separate flight, hotels and transfers which means there's 3 lots of things to go wrong. The little voice keeps telling me that I've accidentally booked the wrong day. I'll turn up at the airport at the wrong time, my passport has expired blah blah blah. I hate e tickets, I want the paper ones back, they're easier to check. I am resisting the urge to go online every 5 minutes to quadruple check everything, but I'm even annoying myself now.All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Well me and the guys at work are hoping to do a fundraiser for the Devon Air Ambulance next year by doing a 5k obstacle course (with running of course)! Sounds hard work but I can't let the team down!
I got further last night than normal.. Mini stop in the middle but for no more than a minute so I'm happy with that. It's just not even that far..0 -

One of the perks of owning a dog is that you can blame them for everything!
Not just bodily functions,, but having to leave somewhere early (have to let the dog out!), not being able to go somewhere at all (can't possibly leave little poochy-pooch on their own for that length of time!), not having the time to do something, not having the money, talking to yourself (that was my favourite!), breaking things (wasn't me, was the dog!).......oh all sorts!!!

I get like this before travelling too. A friend of mine has a Dutch mother, and apparently there's a Dutch word for this - Reisefeber I think it is - the fever induced by (anxiety about) travel! So you are not alone!Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0 -

I think one answer is to take as much paperwork with you as possible, print everything off!
I almost ignored one e-page as it didn't look like anything, only to realise later (before I left) that it was the e-ticket!
So now I print off everything, covering letters, the lot, and take it all with me. You can always discard the outward stuff once you get there.
I also have a separate 'holiday' handbag, that I only use on holiday, so I can put and leave in it all the important stuff like euros, cash card, spare English money, EHIC card, travel insurance documents , passport, and then I add the e-tickets when I get them.
I also keep my suitcase packed between holidays with duplicateable essentials, eg toiletries, medicines (checking once a year for expiry dates), travel hardware, nightie, dictionary, essential telephone numbers, even some types of underwear!
On top of that lot I leave a list of what isn't in there, which isn't much. Two weeks before, I decide what clothes to take, (so that if I use an item before I go, I know I have to wash it a few days before,) and any jewellery, shoes, etc.
Then all I have to do the day before is pack those clothes and double check the documents in the handbag.
It makes life a lot less fraught, I can tell you!(I just lurve spiders!)

Can you imagine the state we'd be in if we ever wanted to organise a round the world trip? I'd be having a breakdown before I even got out the front door - ridiculous way to be going on, but reassuring to know it's got a name and I'm not the only plonker getting worked up about nothing.
I still need to shop, check my summer clothes, possibly buy some new stuff, launder, track down all the things that have gone AWOL since I last used them, pack and tidy/clean the house, but that doesn't worry me in the slightest. Just the flipping travel! All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Yes! I really admire Oldestgnome for going away for nine months! All the stuff involved with leaving the house for that long! And bills, post, banking, aaaaargh! Packing would be the least of it!(I just lurve spiders!)

!
We've got a big travel wallet that everything goes in to. D sorts all the paperwork out, prints it all out and double and triple checks it and I'm always like "have we got this?" "What about this or what about that?", I'm always paranoid that we'll forget something really important.
We'll have to be digging it out later on today and then sorting out our ESTA's as I think ours will have expired now from last time.
Where are you going again elsien? Sorry, memory like a sieve!0 -
Nowhere adventurous - Madeira. Which reminds me, I haven't looked up anything about where to visit yet. Planning to be internet free, so will be AWOL from here for two weeks.
You lot are so organised. I only realised last week that the ehic and currency cards had expired, and I still haven't got a suitcase or a swimming costume. Must get my behind of here and do something. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Ooh! Just thought! Katy hasn't checked in yet! Maybe we have lift-off?
I'd better go and get the Poll.
WaS, I hope you're feeling better today.(I just lurve spiders!)
