Thanks for website - looks cool.
Lol - burning definitely appeals to the pyromaniac in me! Great idea!
I have just been selling all my fire juggling equipment on ebay as I don't use it anymore (and we are trying to get enough for our new shed - oh how times have changed!) anyhoo.....whilst looking up the prices for stuff, I found fire fans and soooo wanted to buy them!!! Brain hasn't quite realised that we are nearly 40 not 20 anymore!

I already have what we call a new year jar. I write nice stuff down on pieces of paper, mainly really insignificant stuff about normal days that were just nice, and then we open and read on new years eve. It's nice.
I always thought this was a more productive thing to do than "focusing on the bad stuff" however - maybe it is time to take a new approach to the bad stuff and physically bin it or lock it away, hence the new bad box idea...........is it a bad idea do you think?

    Both ideas are really great!
I love the New Year jar idea! And so much nicer than a diary! Opening each piece of paper is like opening a present!

And the bad box idea! Equally good! But set fire to it, rather than bin it....( bad stuff might escape in the landfill!) ....or lock it away.....(it might escape! Or get opened like Pandora's box!:D). Yes, have a ceremonial burning! You could immediately follow the burning by an opening of the Happy Jar! :)

Welcome to the thread, RJ and Sidefx
Sidefx! I like that user name! Very appropriate!

RJ, now that the schools have broken up, could you fetch your sister down for a short break on her own, as your mum can't get away?

Re. Your OH, I would urge him to talk to work ASAP. Once they know all the facts, I'm sure they'd be ok, especially if he tells them re the Samaritans and GP. Did they not try to contact him during the three weeks AWOL, to find out where he was?

    Weather forecasts.
As well as the MetOffice site, I always use The Teletext thing on BBC 1 or 2. It's excellent, as it gives a very localised pictorial snapshot of your area every three hours (24 hr forecast), or a daily snapshot over the next 5days.

Press the text button on your TV remote.
Scroll down to and click on Weather
    Scroll down to Forecast Maps
    Scroll to your region
Then you have the choice of 24hr or five day forecast.

24hr gives the forecast at 3-hrly intervals....press the Down scroller arrow to advance by every three hours over the next 24.
You can flip to the 5-day forecast by pressing the side scroller arrows, and then you can advance day by day, using the down arrow, over the next 5 days.
Both give weather symbols over your region, so you can see the localised variations in weather over the region, plus the temperature at different major locations in the region.

I find this is excellent for getting a quick but localised overview of the day or week to come!

Flybaby! Surfing! Fire juggling! Goodness me! All this hidden talent!
I find fire very scary, so I admire that!

I can bring some raspberries into the duvet fort? Freshly picked from my garden :)

Also thought I'd get on the fuzzy-love bandwagon. Here's my little devil sitting in her hole in the garden :)

Well, I don't know if it's called Teletext now, maybe just BBCText.
I find it's very quick and easy, especially when listening to the morning news etc.

It's also brilliant for getting the News Headlines of the day, as I don't get a daily newspaper, and it also gives local headline news too!

Plus the Lottery results, and exchange rates.

You can do all that while watching the TV!

    I love it!

    It's so quick and easy!
(I said that before, didn't I? It's 'cos it is!)

Aww thanks Pyxis! Glad it made you smile.

She's apparently a sprollie - springer/collie mix. Mad as a box of frogs and still thinks she's a pup, but adores her snuggles :)

    Blimey! Springer and Collie!

Collies can't be tired out, (they're bred to do 40miles a day on hills!)
Springers are like Robin Williams on speed!

You must be a masochist! :D

I've never had a Springer, but I know that the Collie personality more than makes up for their untireability!

    (Usually! :D)

I love it that she has her own hole in the garden! Is she part Hobbit? Teehee!

I have no idea why she has a hole, she just digs there a bit then sits in it, and looks really perturbed if I fill it in :)

She's a rescue - OH had her when I moved in - and we think she may have been neglected, she's very protective of food. She also barks at the postman a LOT :)
