    Thanks Birdie.

Is it an "ageing" thing? What does everyone think?

I have noticed the same thing with my in-laws too and I am finding it very difficult as they too are awesome people and I don't understand why they suddenly find it acceptable to come into my house and say " THat long light fitting is ridiculous, I am going to shorten it." and I am like "no, you're not, I am sorry you do not like our light fitting but this is our house and home and you do not touch it" "Oh I just wanted to help" "But it is not something we want done - YOU want to do it"

What I wander is, when they go round their friends houses for dinner etc - do they walk into their houses and criticise something and say they are going to fix it?

I am about THIS close to asking my in-laws if they would like me to tell them what I think is wrong/stupid/ridiculous with their house next time I go round and insist that I am going to "fix" it for them.............. I have my opinions on their house too, but when I go round I would not dream of saying anything negative, I merely comment on anything positive or say nothing at all...which It think is a nice way to be?

Sorry..**rant**...........getting off !!!! to at least do washing up.....

Pyx - catch me up....what meds did you stop and why? and why are we starting them again? I wish you lived round the corner from me!!! I can barely muster the energy to brush my teeth and here is you zumba-ing! I would go to Zumba with you.........I reckon we'd be in fits of giggles.

I have ADHD, the predominantly attention deficit sort. I was diagnosed about 15 years ago, and had been on meds for it ever since.
We decided to trial a break from the meds, to see if it made any difference now, rather than plod on year after year regardless.
NB. My consultant was quite happy for me to stop suddenly as there's no withdrawal effect.
It's been 6 months and the procrastination has got a lot worse, my brain's chock full of cottonwool, I'm barely functioning some days. I've reduced my activities because I couldn't cope with them all. As a result the depression has escalated too.

I had forgotten just how bad I used to feel before I was diagnosed.

I've stuck it out, but I realise now that I do need to be on meds for the duration.

It was a very useful trial, though. I'm glad I did it, even though the last few months have been horrible! :)

I've always had comments about the fact that I don't dust and see the vacuum cleaner as an unnecessary annoyance when my parents visit. It has got no better or worse in almost 20 years of home ownership.

Actually, it might have got slightly better, possibly my mother finally realises that no matter what she might say, I'm not going to have a house like theirs that looks like it's escaped from the pages of Homes & Gardens as it's so clean and tidy! Mines the complete opposite, the lounge walls are lined with bookshelves filled with hundreds and hundreds of books (unsurprisingly, I guess!), which naturally look somewhat untidy, various remote controls litter the sofas along with things like the Radio Times and whatever comics have arrived in the post from Forbidden Planet this week, wherever you go in the house you'll find decorating tools and equipment etc etc

Could be? But in my Mam's case, it's just the way she always been! She very opionated and has a way about her that makes you feel like it's her way or nothing else. She's like it with me, she was like it with my Dad, she can be slightly blunt (she'd call it honest!) with friends about things, but not about their houses though....just mine unfortunately. :(

I mainly enjoy cleaning, so my house is mostly (not always though!) clean and tidy but lately she's got the bit between her teeth about the bathroom ceiling, it had this covering on which bit by bit has came off. I've got to admit, it does look quite tatty and needs doing, and I'll get round to it once I know what to put on it, besides, we don't really notice it, as personally, I never look up at the ceiling! But everytime when I see her lately she goes on and on about this blooming bathroom ceiling.....I told her the other day to shut up about it, but tbh, if it wasn't that it would be something else.

Agree with Pyxis - make sure you treat yourself afterwards for being brave!

It's over in a jiff - you will be fine. Big hugs!

Good luck Georgie. Deep breath and it'll be over in seconds.

I can identify with the parents thing, my dad especially. Even when I've cleaned, he'll find something to comment on. I hate cleaning anyway. My in laws have more tact but their house is so spotless that even my house at its cleanest isn't up to mil's standards. When we got our bathroom done she pointed out a smear above the door. Who even looks there?

Minor problem clothes wise today. My favourite dress is too big. It's a wrap around style so it looks better if I put a belt round it, but I need the belt to hold up my jeans. I have lost 3lbs this week and am now 3lbs away from my next round number target. I was hoping to get there for September so ahead of schedule. :j

    Where is whitewing?

Thanks guys! :) I like the treat idea! :D

Have you booked yours yet code and MU? You're the one who spurred me on code, if you hadn't have mentioned it, it would have slipped my mind yet again.

Yay on the weight loss! Onwards and upwards to the next goal!

I was wondering where whitewing was too, and tea. Hopefully everyone is ok?
