Ono -I kinda do learn - but I am so accident prone, I always come up with new and interesting ways to bump myself. So annoyed with myself as I shoulda put the boots on but was just doing a quick job before I sat down to watch the Tennis - absolute classic time for an accident - the sort of thing I am always bleeting on about at work for others not to do.........me a very silly weeble! Thankfully, other than throbbing, it is not too bad.
I once got to abseil down the side of the Vauxhall tower with the abseilers to "do a safety inspection!" It's right on the Thames next to MI6 building and the views over London were awesome. Clearly no height issues here!

And here I really must add that professional abseilers should be in the same category as firemen! - I am thoroughly used to the lads stripping of their kits to get changed for work in site offices etc etc, and generally don't pay a blind bit of notice - but when the abseilers do it.........phoooooooo.............weeeey!)
**wistfully remembers the afternoon swinging above London tied to the lovliest and fittest abseiler ever** yeah............ being a girl in the construction industry really sucks.................

I watched the Autistic Gardener last night too, thought it was quite lovely and a much nicer programme than I expected.

Hugs MU, I don't qualify for any tax credits so have no idea how they work but it's awful that you're going to be so much worse off. I understand in a way why they're cutting it but to not take into account people like yourself who aren't able to work longer hours due to disabilities is a huge oversight! Your letter is very good, I hope you get a response. I'm not sure if this is something you feel capable of, but have you considered looking for a better paid job somewhere else? Or does your employer do training schemes that gives pay rises with qualifications?

Hope you can shake the world off and get out of bed Katy! :) I'm now singing 'Shake it off' which is my happy song and helps me clear out the cobwebs! :)

Hugs, Katy! I'm feeling the same, I really wish I could have stayed in bed, my head is so full of cold I feel like it's going to fall off :(

I could honestly cry right now :( been worked out i'm set to lose over a grand a year cos of the cuts to tax credits. i don;t know how i'm going to cope. i already live on the bare minimum i can and have nothing to cut back on. and i can;t increase my hours as mentally i can't cope with it (last time i worked full time i had a breakdown, after that my psychiatrist told me not to work full time). i hate this bloody government. i feel like just jacking it all in. whats the !!!!ing point of trying to work if i just get screwed over. :(

    Beki,

Sorry to hear that, Might be time to check that you are claiming everything that you are entitled to.

I thought they wanted to make work pay!!!

Easy for me to say. But try not to stress to much as you already have a lot on your plate to deal with.

    Take care.

    Yours

    Calley

Hugs MU x x I've no idea how tax credits work either, but that's a lot of money to be down on a year. The way they made it sound was that with the living wage now being £9 odd and the tax threshold going up to over £11,000, that people were going to be so much better off, obviously not for some people. Your letter is very good, well written, I hope it gets some results.

Hugs Katy x x Hope you managed to make it out of bed. :)

I love that Shake it Off song Birdie! Happy and energetic!

It seems sunny and warm here today, hopefully it'll stay like that whilst Ido some washing!
  • Hello all today. Takin my two kids to on holiday to one of the Islands in the outer Hebrides stayin with a cousin. Now considering last year I couuldnt even see my kids due to me losing myself on my birthday and receiving a police caution for having a row with my daughter. Even managed to get part time work also. We are going on the overnight sleeper and flying back a week later. What a difference a year makes. Been teetotal since November last year which is why I can afford to take us on holiday.

Will try and read some of this thread
