I have just found my relative's birthday card and money on the table instead of inside the parcel I posted to her this morning. And realised that I'm too late posting anything as her birthday was yesterday. Annoyed with myself now for being so disorganised.

Maybe I did mean hubbys furry bum!

Bath day will be tomorrow's job now, too exhausted to bother tonight.

Evening went better than I thought and I managed not to punch anyone.

Had a letter saying the health visitor wants to come round next week to do a pre-birth visit. I'm already freaking out! Apparently it is fine to cancel it, but I know they will get funny if I cancel too many appointments so trying to psych myself up for it. Just hope I can manage to make myself answer the door, although hubby said he would try and be home for it.
Already annoyed two dog walkers I had set up for around birth time by chickening out at the last minute when they were supposed to come over to meet the dog.

Would rather do it myself but the ladder is too heavy to lift on my own.

Whilst I replaced the guttering at the front of my house, and rearranged it so there was a proper fall on it (the house is L shaped so there is a right angle in the gutter which always got clogged), I'm not volunteering :p - me and heights don't get on, which is the reason I live in a small bungalow when I could have bought a bigger house with an upstairs for the same money (stiff competition in the housing market for bungalows from retired people, apparently).

Two steps on the ladder or hop-up platform for guttering is OK but about my limit, getting up to the roof when it was leaking was impossible so I had to get someone in.

I learned the lesson about appropriate footwear 20 off years ago when I dropped a cylinder head on my trainer shod foot . It was 'only' aluminium, not cast iron, and it caught the side rather than landing full on, so luckily it only bruised my foot, but ever since I always wear my steel toe-cap boots for any task where heavy objects might be involved. I tend to learn my DIY lessons the hard way, but they do usually stay learned :o.

I could honestly cry right now :( been worked out i'm set to lose over a grand a year cos of the cuts to tax credits. i don;t know how i'm going to cope. i already live on the bare minimum i can and have nothing to cut back on. and i can;t increase my hours as mentally i can't cope with it (last time i worked full time i had a breakdown, after that my psychiatrist told me not to work full time). i hate this bloody government. i feel like just jacking it all in. whats the !!!!ing point of trying to work if i just get screwed over. :(

edit: I just wrote a letter to my MP. maybe it won;t help but i feel i at least did something
I'm writing to you on the day of the Emergency Budget, asking for my voice to be heard. I have Bipolar disorder, following a breakdown in 2009 which resulted in me trying to take my own life, I lost my job, and had to claim Employment and Support Allowance. After 3 1/2 years that i claimed (and was in the support group) in 2012, i felt able to return to work. However due to my mental health and on the advice of those involved in my care I could only return part time.

I claim the disability element of Tax Credits, which enables me to work part time and have an independent life, without this money i would be forced against medical advice to increase my hours which after my last breakdown i fear would lead to another and if it did, i'd be worried that i wouldn't survive that. The alternative would be to go back on ESA. Today's cuts to Tax Credits mean, as a disabled worker i will be roughly £1200 worse off. As you can understand this is a lot of money to someone in my situation. I worry not just for myself, but for the thousands of others who also work despite disability, who will be put in a situation where financially they shall be worse off.

I feel like the Conservative government have let down not only those with disabilities but those with mental health problems as a whole. Funding for Mental Health is already scarce and currently i am only under the care of my GP which often is not sufficient. I fear there is little support for enabling those with disabilities back into work, or helping them stay there. Tax Credits are such a thing which DID make a positive impact on lives, and now it is being taken away.

I hope others who are affected can have their voice heard too, and that this government realise the true impact their cuts have made today. And how many lives they have affected so negatively.

To all, especially MU (((hugs))) if this budget stuff I causing anxiety. I have nothing constructive to say, just (((hugs)))

Moo - am a HSQE consultant...pretty much done it all, been there and got the t-shirt....... have done a lot of q in the past and writing business management systems is somewhat of my speciality - integrated ones that mean a company has their ISO's, business plans, procedures, quality manuals, HSE Manuals, departmental goals and business plans all integrated into one system so there is just one songsheet for everyone to sing off. My biggest confession is that I actually really like auditing! I enjoy looking at processes and being able to fix the holes. Like I said before, I like fixing things ( which is good coz I am also skilled in breaking things)

Katy - super big hug and smug face for you for getting through the tricky evening.

Calley - have fun interviewing those veg people! For some reason - in my head I am calling you Cal-el instead - but I think I will just go with it...you know what that makes you? Cal El, son of Dur El - superman! So basically my visual image of you is Supergirl. (p.s did I also mention I am a nerd - sci fi, comics etc)

Ahhhhhhhhhhh..........it's nearly fully light again................5am........lovely............so I think I'll just give up on trying to sleep tonight...............off to see if I can dismantle and fix the hoover quietly whilst sleeping beauty upstairs shakes the house with his resonant sleepy snuffles (clocked him snoring at over 111dB one night)

I trod on turbo earlier.............nothing like total sleep deprivation to make you burst into tears coz you trod on a snail you have been talking to since 2am as he slowly circles the patio................I had been thinking of getting the paints out to bling up his shell to amuse myself and crunch............squidge..........awwwww noooo.

    Brilliant letter, MessedUp. :T

When are the cuts due to start?

Does the increase in the minimum wage affect you?

Also, the personal allowance is due to rise too.

Will these things offset the cut to tax credits?
