Glad it's not just me, Birdie! I had trousers, boots and a shirt on yesterday and roasted! Ha ha!

HBS -On super hot days I wear tights, dress and a cardigan,

As I have said before I make a vampire look like it has a tan. When I separated and started to loose weight. I started to wear skirts and dresses. And the dreaded tights.

In the summer they are horrible and hot. So I changed to stockings. Better all round. And if you are like me I put my fingers through them :rotfl:. You only loose one.

I did splash out and spent £30 x2 on suspender belts but they are so comfy and when I was wearing a skirt/dress nearly every day to work worth the investment.

And for some unknown reason make me feel super confident!!!

    *clears throat*

THOSE OF YOU THAT NEED SMEARS, GO AND HAVE THEM.

I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for my smear tests, and as it was I had to go through some rather nasty treatment to prevent cervical cancer (LLETZ, for those who wish to know).

    PLEASE, book your appointments!

    HBS x

    Hear hear! With knobs on!
    Me something similar.
Thirty years ago, a smear test revealed pre-cancerous changes. I had a colposcopy and laser treatment, and that zapped it. I then had annual smears for ages, as a precaution, but now am deemed ok to be back on the normal interval.
In a few years' time, I will be too old to be offered routine smears, but will have them done anyway, even if I have to pay for them.

Even now, and having had children, I find the procedure a bit embarrassing, but it's done by a female nurse, only lasts a few seconds, doesn't hurt me, and, as HBS says, could save my life.

Weigh up a few seconds embarrassment on the one hand, and saving your life on the other hand.
    No brainer.

Things going around and around and around my head. This makes me want to eat chocolate and/or sleep, and I was so good and had a chicken and bean salad for lunch :/

Came in to remind Melly Moo to call medical professionals - but seems everyone is already on the reminders case. sweet

HBS and Pyxis - thanks for your stories on smears - I have avoided them as I can't even comprehend anyone going anywhere near me, past history of abuse etc etc and it's one of the reasons I decided against children (plus family history of disease.) But having read your posts. I think I will suck it up, close my eyes and get it over with. Thanks for the advice and nicely put shove in the right direction.

Calley - was it you that was looking at the afternoon work? I decided that if you were brave enough to try, I should be too. I saw a job advertised for a 14 week contract for 3 days a week so I applied. Thanks for the inspiration, please don't go anywhere. ((((hug))))

and yes - the toes are rather throbbing a bit today!

Katy..........so feeling for you and your employer not making your workplace safe, especially at your crucial time. IF you want any professional advice on H&S, feel free to PM me. But can I just say 3.5 weeks is how many hours for you? And tonight it will be 8-10 hours less! I'd make a big chart of the hours left to go and then you can get big satisfaction putting big red crosses through the boxes every day. Hope you have a tolerable day (((hug)))

Right.........the more I read the thread............the more I wish I could do something real to show you all how lovely and comforting your words are............ but since it is a "virtual" fort family, I have decided to take the pay it forward route..........starting close to home today and making hubbys favourite dinner for when he gets in from work tonight......(very rare occurrence - I fix the oven, I don't use it!)

Yes it was me. And the interview is 10am tomorrow morning.

And I am trying not to think about it and no idea what you wear either. Think a skirt and blouse might be a bit over the top. As they are a little local company. So get the feeling they might be a bit casual!

Suppose to hot tomorrow. So might wear one of my dresses with a cardy.

Calley - You go girl! Pretty dress and cardi sounds perfect to me. I always wear a suit and blouse no matter where I am interviewing (often construction companies) to show respect but I would like to be able to wear a nice dress and cardi to give a softer impression (it is still formal and respectful but shows a softer side I think) but my body size and shape doesn't allow for it. If you are stressed about it, go choose and photograph the outfits you are most comfortable in and post them - I am sure everyone will give you feedback and then you can go along feeling supremely confident.

Remember that you are going to go along so that they can see how awesome you are and so that YOU can interview THEM to see if you might want to hang out there a few afternoons a week.

Do you have some interview prep done?
