Calley - for those nights when sleep eludes you - look for the bare naked ladies song "who needs sleep" - makes me laugh sometimes when I put it on as I am sure the person who wrote it must have been sleep deprived.
How do you motivate yourself to go walking at all? - on the days when you manage it?
I will look for that on youtube.
No idea I just do.I do it first thing to get it out the way. As I don't really do exercise LOL!!!
Take care.

Calley why would you have to leave here because you were feeling better? This place is for anyone interested in mental health, whether needing support themselves or not. I'd have been drummed out weeks ago otherwise.
I kind of work on the basis that I don't care if the effect of anything I try is placebo or not, as long as it makes me feel better, so if it's working for you stick with it. Are you meant to try to stay awake when you're listening to the tapes, or doesn't it matter? (Tapes - how about that for showing my age? :rotfl:)
I should be in bed now but have discovered a strangely addictive programme called tattoo fixers. The number of people who've had dodgy tattoos while drunk and/or on holiday is slightly worrying. Im not generally into tattoos, but they can look good as long as they're on someone else! All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Calley - you will have no reason you have to leave, your success and recovery will bring us as much happiness as your posts do now. Please don't leave !:AStarting again on my own this time!! - Defective flylady! :A0

Yes, what dragonette said! It's quite important to have some people on here who are feeling better, I think - to inspire others and remind them that there are happier times out there!
The very important thing on here (which I think we do well, in fact) is that we accept all levels of mental distress and illness with love and support. I know WaS doesn't think of it as 'her thread', but she has been inspirational in showing us how someone with severe mental illness can be open and inspiring about their condition and help such a range of other people. And the lovely thing is that we all have somewhere to come (with a fort! with fairy lights! and pets!) when we are feeling dreadful, but we all have something to give as well.
Thank you all for being such an inspirational bunch. :heartpuls:heartpuls:heartpuls:heartpulsEx board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0 -
Hello JennaF!
Welcome to the thread!
What JM says is so true!
It's not a thread just for severe problems, it's for everyone, those with MH problems and those without! We''re all educating each other!
And helping each other!
Several visitors have said that while they don't have any particular problems, they have learned a lot from being in here, and that's really important, just as important as helping each other!
It doesn't matter if someone's level of illness/disability/problem isn't as great as someone else's. Everyone has good and bad days. Anyone in distress deserves to be hugged and listened to!(I just lurve spiders!)

Hi Jenna, welcome to you too.
Today I am working from home. And next door have a new puppy. With a very squeaky toy. It has been squeaking continuously for the last hour. My tolerance for noise isn't great at the best of times - this one is particularly irritating and hard to ignore. May have to be the earplugs and hoping I don't miss too many calls! All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Ah the squeaky toy, one of the reasons mine are banned.
This morning Princess decided that as she was upset and frantic about not being with Mummy whilst she sorted out Tomcat and got dressed, she was going to wee on a memory foam bed woop
It was her bed
Still meant I was late as I attempted to remove wee and replace with the smell of something else, hang it out etc.
She really doesnt cope well with knowing I am there but she cant get to me.0 -
Elsien, would putting some music on help to drown out the squeaks?(I just lurve spiders!)

I wouldn't bother welcoming JennaF, they're leaving odd one-line comments on random threads so I'm sensing a spammer!
Calley, there would be no reason for you to leave at any point! I'm not ill but I still love to read and pop up every so often and don't feel like I'm not allowed!
MU - I've been meaning to ask, how's the health kick going? I have been trying really hard and sticking to it for the main part but my weight loss has stalled now. Sick of my body settling on a comfy weight and refusing to let any more flab go!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
Unfortunately not. I need quiet to concentrate, plus I'm webinaring in a minute. At least I think I am, but webinars are new to me so I'm frantically checking the computer settings. Gitdog isn't helping the concentration either as it's cooler so he's awake, and at the moment chasing his tail under the table I'm sitting at.All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
