    Evening all,

Came home to start the bulk of my marking and my laptop screen was black when on. Eventually got it on but couldn't get on the internet, then found out that broadband is down for everyone with vm around this area. Guess that means another break from marking!

SFD number 8 today :) not much else to report.

    Hiya Turtles,

Sorry I didn't post yesterday after the quote. I meant to, but I [STRIKE]had to[/STRIKE] decided to take the day off due to an upset stomach. It was one of those upsets where I'm not sure I would have made the 45 minute drive to work, let alone do any actual work. By the evening I was feeling better but I was exhausted. Took today off too to give myself time to get over it.

I haven't taken a sick day in three or four years, I have letters from the company to prove it, but I just felt that it was time to look after me properly rather than thinking about work first.

Not sure what it is, I haven't eaten mexicana cheese and haven't had anything spicy or new. I think my stomach had just had enough of junk and being on the go all weekend etc and decided enough was enough.

Went to the supermarket today to do a bit of a top up shop and to get a fathers day card. Was hoping to get some garden canes too but they didn't have any which meant I had to call in at the garden centre on the way home. Didn't spend any more than for the canes but did find a perfect garden furniture. It has a fire pit in the middle of the table that can also be used as an ice bucket. Genius!

    Hi everyone!

Wishus and shy hope you are both feeling 100% again soon.

Sorry I didn't post yesterday. It was my first day back in work and we had a friend round for dinner last night, so I was exhausted! On the plus side, it was a SFD. Actually better than that - We got a compensation payment from the bank of £150 for bad service, so at least that will cover DHs speeding fine when it arrives. I also managed to order one of the free Father's Day cards from Martin's email.

Work for me again today and it has been another SFD. Looking forward to a day off tomorrow, although I have nothing planned apart from getting through the mountain of washing.

I have been following a thread on old style about children helping out in the kitchen and realised my daughter (9 yo) is much more capable than I give her credit for. So, this week she has already cooked a pasta bake for us all (I did the oven bit) and has been making the packed lunches for herself and her brother. She is loving the responsibility and it helps me out, so win win!
  • Evening everyone :) not a lot to report, work is really busy at the moment and I'm feeling like they want me there again (which I don't always feel!) so that's good. Today was another SFD and LTW, but I blobbed a bit on the exercise - got up to do it but couldn't get through one circuit! Think that's my body's way of telling me to cool it today, so I'm going to have a quiet evening and try again tomorrow :) hope everyone who's feeling down or ill feels better soon x

A SFD today but lost yesterday's after I had claimed it so no increase today. I am not doing great with SFDs but I am trying to cut out sugary and salty things (particularly snacks). I have deliberately not bought any with regular shopping, but have lost some SFDs due to buying one item when the cravings are too much (a bit like shy's odd cigarette when cutting back). Overall I am cutting down a lot, but giving in occasionally and buying one item stops the craving precipitating a binge (I hope).

Not done a lot today but hoping to buy a weekly ticket tomorrow and hop back and forth to the other house getting as much done as possible (windows all need cleaning, lots of wiping over and some little diy jobs) and resume bringing back plant pots and other items from the shed. Can't really afford the bus ticket but best way to do it, if I can keep going. Was thinking through the logistics of taking small steps - probably need the larger ones at some point - a mop bucket and more bedding plants to brighten odd corners and it's too much on foot. If it makes the house more saleable it's worth it and will cost less than paying someone else.

Today I am grateful for a pleasant day (bright but cooler and a good breeze), for books and charity shops and for mashed potato (another not strictlly allowed but so good).
