Good flinging, pigpen and Valli :T
I had the same thoughts about the macaroons :rotfl:
Tomato and aubergine plants taken outside (but not yet repotted) and kitchen and DR windows cleaned.
Spare bed remade with fresh bedding and cover put back on, ready for the next visitor (whenever that may be).
Our bed stripped.
Floors hoovered and kitchen floor steam mopped.
3 loads of washing done and hung out.
Tried to weigh in at SW but the scales broke down (NB not while I was standing on them!) and as I'm at target I shall not go to an alternative group this week.
2 batches of soup cooked. DH ate 1/3 of the leek and potato and the vicar* and I each ate 1/4 of the very yummy Italian style chicken and tomato (it had basil and bits of pasta in it).
*not a joke - he has been threatening to come and see me for weeks! We had a very pleasant chat.
DS1 has asked me to babysit this evening so that he and DDiL1 can go out for a meal. DGD1+2 will be in bed by the time I get there but I shall enjoy the dog's company and do some cutting out and whilst drinking their coffee and watching Springwatch
Must remember to remake our bed before I go out. I'll be too tired to do it on my own later, and DH always goes into a grump if he has to help me do that, because I like it done just so!0 -
Frizzle - bicarb of soda great for removing tea stains from anything or for cleaning out manky vacuum flasks - DH used to have one for his milk and kept "forgetting" it. He now uses the plastic bottle and has hot drinks at work only!!! Mine is OOD too but I keep on using it!
Lost 1.5 lbs at weigh in then went for short walk with DS
Have since return had lunch, stitched tape onto bottom of DHs new cords ready to turn up. Got the hand sewing bug at the moment - also making a "named" on both sides bed for DS GF's puppy - so taught myself to embroider!!
Tidied up and have got flapjack baking then off now to make crunchy topped lemon cake.
The weather has improved greatly so feeling much better.July 16 £95/£200

Macaroons help yourself, feel free to name them if you wish.
I've got a sink full of washing up now followed by a veggie lasagne to make then I'm going in the attic to find some cardboard boxes to recycle.SPC~12 ot 124

Frizzle - hope your friend is recovering and glad the ba**ard has been arrested !
Pigpen - is that a definite decision
I was in a bit of a dream about menus and shopping lists earlier and found I was dusting bedroom, having done sitting room I had just carried on :rotfl: Decided to do whole lot so all the house well dusted top to bottom.
Made oxtail stew yesterday so converted left-overs into soup and frozen for another day. Just going to have a cuppa and then finish sparkling the kitchen, as only omelettes, new potatoes and salad for tea so won't be making much mess (I hope).
Have had letters from the health people moving us to a nearer doctor's and so have filled in the forms from them and made initial appointment, me for health check they like to do for new patients and Dr for DH for his regular asthma inhalers. So that's another job off the list.

Thank you I was put off my the faffiness of some of the recipies but I found one on pintrest that didn't require sugar to be boiled or egg whites aged so I went with that.
I'm playing with new recipies as the cake stall is looming, but after doing these it occurred to me the school is a total nut free zone (that's a matter of opinion some days;))
There were some traybake ones in the you mag this week so might try them next.
It's also a good way of using up some stuff that doesn't often see the light of day from the baking cupboard.SPC~12 ot 124

House is looking better
Does anyone have good laundry tips? Specifically putting it away? I never see the bottom of the basket!

Pigpen - is that a definite decision
It doesn't appear so.. I'm in a right a**e because he won't talk to me or make any kind of decision or even state an opinion other than he wants the 2 oldest of ours to just have his name rather than the ridiculously long double barrelled name.. I am going to slap him!
£46 to change mine and the 2 girls to his
£73 to change theirs to his and mine to something else.. which is where I have been for the last 6 years.
£49 to get married and change all of them..

I threw the ironing basket away years ago. I use one of those big strong shopping bags to hang the washing out and then the bag gets folded up and put away in a drawer. As soon as the washing comes in it gets folded and put away, any ironing is done straight away. It really works.
I am getting sick of the teenagers not turning up for meals and not letting me know. We need a new rule on this I think. Anyone want some chicken and leek pie, potatoes and veg before the dog gets it?
I have had a frustrating afternoon trying to sort emails and phone calls. None of which has really worked out. Sigh.
Off to sort the kitchen.0
