Pigpen my maiden name was so much easier, was a plain old name that nobody ever asked to spell. Since I got married I've been called any one of about 5 different variations and always have to triple-check important documents and so on. Most annoying
I don't think yours is odd at all.. hardly unusual. I don't tell people my name, I just spell it to save time lolLB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Bunbun take it easy. I really hope your lurgy isnt as nasty as mine but just dont try to do too much.
Its late, my laptop is on a go slow so I am just going to say night night and head off to bed. Lots of decluttering done here along with some paid stuff. More progress tomorrow I hope.0 -
Thanks YL. I feel a lot better and the aching seems to have gone but I know these things have a habit of coming back so I will be careful.
Bossy/pigpen my maiden name was simple only one spelling, my married name is very common but there are two spellings and 9 times out of 10 people use the wrong one. Ds1 was not impressed that it was spelt incorrectly on the back of the year book. Not that it makes any difference to him as he didn't buy one:rotfl:saving for ds2's summer international scout camp - £200

Funny old day today. Went to the local country park with my bro and his family and my mum and dad. I take for granted sometimes our walks. I took them round the nature reserve of the park which they had never been round! We have lived here all our lives and it is on our doorstop. Half way round they asked how much further if was! When we got back to the car I said it had probably been about 2.5-3 miles and they all disagreed and said it was much further! When I got back I measured it on my app- 2.7 miles! They were really surprised! I didn't have the heart to tell them that my 6 year old jogs more that that! I think they all enjoyed the quieter walk rather than the busy one but maybe next time I should make it a Mile or so!
M and d came back for lunch and after they went I gave the place a quick once over, did some more tidying in our bedroom and tonight I did some ironing. Didn't have loads but thought I would make the most of not having hubby around!
Got the surveyor coming tomorrow at 10am so heed to make sure the place is ship shape by then. It's not looking too bad!

Morning everyone.
Up early as it is weigh in day today. Spent an hour or so last night trying to find ancient work papers - not yet got to paperwork in kondoing! Sorted things so I can now proceed.
Why did I keep my programming training notes from the 80s - including exactly what instruction to give to copy data onto a magnetic tape! We used to program long hand and the data was typed up by special typists onto punch cards - haven't things advanced since the 80's!!!
Plan for today is:
avoid food and drink until after weigh in - done
Remove all tags from new holiday clothes so they feel as though they belong to me - done
Let go of favourite skirt - sixe 18 which won't alter successfully - shame - it is now ready to go to ch shop
Two emails
online banking check
half hour tidy
exercises
p.m.
reply to important papers, photocopy and post
collect MnS order for DH
Baking for museum coffee morning tomorrow
Perhaps I'll have chance to look at the lists and fly a little!
Have a good day everyone. xJuly 16 £95/£200

Morning everyone
Just shredded a couple of N*xt catalogues to go in the recycling. Will get rid of the paper on my way to work. Will also have a quick scoot around to see if there is any more paper to go while I am at it.
DS2 is cycling into town to visit some mates today. This is the first time he has done this, the route is along quite a busy main road and he is not the most confident cyclist. He needs to have his independence though and being stuck in the middle of nowhere with no public transport is not great when you are 14.
So it will just be me and DS1 this afternoon after work.
Right, better getting moving!0 -
Morning All
Well I've made a start on my BR this morning - I can see a bit of floor! I need to go to Scouts this morning but not for about another 3 hours so I've got a bit of time. Nothing planned for this afternoon although I want to go swimming 4 - 5. I'll see how much I manage to get done!
Have a good day all

Today I aim to get more thrown at ebeast.. BORING!!! I need to finish DD2's shrug thing... then I can start her next one.. I found some gorgeous yarn under the cot yesterday which I am considering making into a leafy blanket to sell.. it is blue and purple and green variegated.. its really nice, I have red and black too so I may also do that. I have some school blue so I may do some for Dot for nursery and Spambolini too.. he can have little waistcoats and jumpers I'm sure. I need to finish Moomins leafy blanket too. I still haven't found the wool for MOL's cardy.. its so annoying!
I also want to clear some of the bookcase in the front room so OH can get his books out of the bedroom and onto the shelves in there.. OH is putting up mirrors.. 4 of them.. then I have a light pull needs replacing and a light fitting too. I'm going to boss him to put the mountain of gubbins in the loft too.. AND.. I am getting him some lidded boxes so his comics can go in the loft too.. so long as they are protected from damp and mice I have permission .... need to measure a comic actually.. 16 years worth is a fair big pile!
chimney chap coming Wednesday to hopefully get the stupid chimney capped so we can move forward in getting the back room rebuilt!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Morning all
A day at cricket with DS2 for me. I will get a wash sorted before I go. House is realatively clean and tidy, I'll give it a good going over towards the end of the week. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0
