Welcome to the weekly Flylady thread. If you need help organising your week or getting motivated when it comes to housework then come and join us.

Thank you Bossy for last week's thread

Every room comes back around next week so please don’t stress about catching up

These lists are only suggestions and not a must do list; you are more than welcome to post and follow your own lists.

Also adding a declutter mission each day will help to gradually clear the clutter and make flying easier.

A few of the basics before we start the week

Hotspots are areas where if one thing gets put there, loads of other things follow!

Daily routines are anything you need to do on a daily basis like washing, swish and swipe kitchen and bathroom, ironing, making beds, vacuuming high traffic areas, making meals etc.

Night-time routines are all things which make getting ready in the morning easier, preparing clothes for the next day, making lunches, swish & swipes of the kitchen and tidying the living room before you go to bed plus personals like shower/brush teeth etc.

Fling Boogie - stick on some loud music, grab a bin bag and whiz around the house finding items that can go out with the rubbish, recycling, for charity shop, basically anything that will stop it cluttering your home.

Swish and swipe/S&S means have a quick wipe over an area such as a sink or toilet to prevent the build up of dirt. This is usually done on a daily basis

HHE/HHC/HHI Half Hour exercise/challenge/ironing ... run around for 30 minutes to the Benny Hill music frantically cleaning exercising or ironing.. other music may be used if you prefer!

    Ditto to Pigpen.
Scheduled work includes a meeting on Wed pm; assessment Fri am and lesson Fri pm. Between that it's the garden list and preparing for what looks like a busy few weeks.

    Hiya everyone

Thank you for last week Bossy and thank you for this week Natty.

I'm in for the week again please. We don't have the bank holiday up here in Scottie land so DH is working as normal.

BTW Bossy - if you have a look at the 'About.com' website and go to 'Travel'. Then put in the search box sightseeing with kids in London. If you then scroll down you will find listings of free and budget stuff to do with sprogs in tow :D

((hugs)) sticks and spoons if you need some and hope you all have a marvellous Monday

Thank you Natty for starting us off this week - I hope you are beginning to feel even just a little bit better now. Please take your own advice on Level 2, Item 2! And thank you to Bossy for last week's lists.

I have another horrendous week ahead of me - too much to do and not enough time to do it in - to the extent that I think I shall have to cancel my voluntary work on Thursday. I have got deadlines to meet at the beginning of next week, and an extra 7 hours to help fit everything in would be very helpful. This includes visiting my friend and sorting her needs which have now very definitely begun to change. I spent 2 hours yesterday on phone conversations with members of her family who are looking to me to try to make arrangements for her to move to the hospice (she has not made any objections and has asked me to phone the MacMillan nurse on Tuesday to talk about it) and another hour writing long emails to two other friends. DH and I are due to go on holiday on 2nd June for a week (only within a 2.5-hour drive from here, but with some hotels bookings made) and I'm beginning to think that we might have to come back at short notice.

    Flying today will consist of
    - drinking the cuppa that I've just made, while sending 2 reminder emails re feedback forms
    - making up some name labels and photo cards
    - take DH to his railway job
    - going to my NT vol job, picking DH up on the way home
    - moving the tomato plants outside this evening and repotting and staking them (they're getting really straggly but have flowers appearing now)
    - ditto aubergines (but less straggly)
    - remember to put "clean kitchen and DR windows" on tomorrow's list!
    - start to write my report on last week's visit.

    Best get on, then!

(((Hugs))), a modicum of spoons and sticks all round, but think I'm going to need to keep some spoons for myself today, if you don't mind x

Strength vibes for you, Iona, and I wish I could send you extra time!

I am feeling better, not a clue what I have had but I am sniffy now, it was certainly an energy zapper. But it's put me on the back foot!

Spent last night sorting what my sister has de cluttered, which I will car boot in summer. There is some good stuff!

I want to sort the shed, too. I have a computer chair which needs to go to the tip so I shall do that, possibly tomorrow, there's another errand I can do in that part of town.

Spoons here for you Ionafan. The situation with your friend sounds very difficult, hope things go as well as they can.

And Valli we have had a flu bug going around which completely knocked me for six for 2 weeks. Take it steady.

I am working today so that I can take Friday off - so thats OK. DS2 went out with some friends last night and rang me to ask if he could stay over with one of them. I said yes then for some reason felt really uneasy about it. He was on FB late last night so I know he was fine but it took me a while to get to sleep. OH told me I needed to "chill" and he was probably right.

Going to try and keep on top of the flying this week, and more decluttering to be done if I can fit it in.

Have a nice BH everyone, for those of you not working make sure you try and get some feet up time!

  • Morning all - posted this on old thread as I don't know what day it is!!! Thanks for old and new threads and well done to everyone.

Bossy - are you going by train to London - then look at the Days Out in London Guide you can often get two for price of one on things like that if you are travelling into London by train on the day you are going on the trip. We got two for one in the Tower of London and it was a huge saving. x

Trying desperately to catch up but now have late pension quotes to check and sort and a weekend away this coming weekend! Why does everything come at once!!

Hugs to everyone and have a great day. x
